See what I did there huehuehue /hangsheadinshame
I may jumping on the sentimental bandwagon and not many, if any, people here are going to be interested but have been wanting to write a blog like this for SC2SEA for some time.
Even though this community can be extremely clique-y, something that lead me to leave this site for extended periods on two occasions, my experiences and memories of this community and its people are predominantly positive.
When I lived in Korea I didn't have a lot of social options after my first year what with my co-workers being fuddy duddy and while nice people we just didn't have much in common. SC2SEA was the only connection I had to like minded people and was a refuge / outlet to socialise for me and for that I thank everyone who entertained my presence despite my immature balance rage
That goes double for all the old school FaDe guys even those who I don't chat with anymore =3
Even before FaDe died I had lost a lot of interest in SC2 and post FaDe I didn't feel like sticking around. I tried some hots but didn't like the direction it took ZvT and ZvZ personally and quit for some time while trying to gain employment. When I saw on facebook that PiG was playing in DH however I briefly unquit to watch and started getting that itch to play again - for one ZvZ looked actually interesting once more. Actually playing though I didn't enjoy it so I guess I have turned into the abominable casual that only watches from time to time :P
Have been playing Battlefield 3 though which is a lot of fun So apparently i'm one of those gamers now. At least i'm not playing LoL ey
The final point I want to make is regarding the future - specifically I will be saying goodbye not only to sc2, sc2sea but all gaming in the near future. Despite being interested and having a passion for games and games development I simply won't have the time until perhaps PS5/6?
I am currently doing everything I can to prepare for entry into the army and the Royal Military College to be trained as an officer. It's a notion I have had since I was little and I finally feel that I have matured enough to be ready for the challenge. Its like I have at last found the path I am meant for and i'm excited for the future. I wonder if any sc2sea members have an interest in the army?
I don't start RMC until January so I want to still drop by here and lurk, maybe post sometimes but I still wanted to say thank you and goodbye.
I can imagine you winning skirmishes against enemies when you become commander of a squad with your Starcraft 2 knowledge :b
Anyway good luck in your career mate, come on over to SEA if you get the chance
