How large is the mouse, and what sort of mouse grip (Fingertip, Claw, Palm) do you think it's best suited to?

Re: Tt eSPORTS Theron Mouse Combat White Review

You could probably use it with any style but I'd say it's probably best suited to a claw grip. When you compare it to the Tt eSPORTS Saphira which has an elevated back lending itself more to a palm style it makes me less inclined to suggest the Theron is designed for similar purposes.

The sides of the mouse have subtle indents which allows your fingers to rest comfortably using a claw grip while also allowing you to feel comfortable if you have your hand fully stretched out.

From top to bottom the mouse is approximately 12cm. You'd be able to work out the relative positions of the features from the photos.

Looking at it's pure raw size, I'd say it's perfect for palm grip. The size isn't as small as some mouses that are catered to pure claw/fingertip grippers such as a naked G9X.

With that said, due to its changeable weight function I've found that it suits a claw/fingertip gripper perfectly if you configure it to minimal weight.

I'm a claw gripper myself, over time I've found that the weight of the mouse is much more important for claw grip rather than size. I feel that one of the main causes for injury (CTS/UNE) is the weight of the mouse. The less the weight, the less pressure on the wrists. A weightless Theron feels lighter than most gaming mouses out there at the moment.

tl;dr - imo this is one of the few mouses that cater to all 3 grips~

Had this mouse for test for mayo I believe not long after it was released and a big issue for me were the drivers. Have they patches the drivers to a decent level or are they still throwing big red arrows around and having limited dpi adjustments? From my exp. this was a really good quality mouse but that bottom plate and drivers were the only draw back to it.

I'm not aware of the driver issue. All I remember is installing the program once, setting up the DPI I wanted, and from then on it was plug & play on subsequent PCs I've used the mouse with. No issues so far.

Use the back page button on the mouse while browsing the Internet, no obnoxious red arrow? - then they fixed it.

That arrow is only there when you have your DPI button unlocked. I too was getting really frustrated at randomly clicking backwards accidentally but then found out they are deactivated when you lock the DPI switch!

Basically I keep the DPI switch always locked unless I specifically want to change my DPI settings or want to activate the forward and back while browsing.

Re: Tt eSPORTS Theron Mouse Combat White Review

Alright, thanks to both of you for helping answer my question!
I generally use a fingertip grip, which is pretty much a claw grip, but my wrist is on the mat rather than touching the mouse at all.
isn't 12cm quite large? The mouse that I normally use has a 8.5cm base, and is 10cm overall, and the one I use when that one's battery is 13cm and I find that quite too large :c But yeah, I'll try it out I guess, if it's as light as you make it to be, i'm sure it'll be fine :3

Re: Tt eSPORTS Theron Mouse Combat White Review

You have five removable 4.5g weights on it which you can use at your disposal.

12cm is quite large compared to most mice of a claw grip variety as Reere has said. If you can find somebody who has one ideally you can ask to have a play on it but it definitely feels light with no weights in which is how I use it.

Kumo: With no weights on it it almost feels 'flimsy' as a mouse, but imo that's a plus point for claw grippers.

If possible try to find a retail store that has units out for testing/demo purposes to get a solid feel of weight/size. I've heard that these kind of places are rare in AU, but in SG/TW most mouse/keyboard stores have demo units ready of most models for you to test~

Re: Tt eSPORTS Theron Mouse Combat White Review

I have the Theron. I find the mouse to be excellent, a very sturdy and comfortable mouse with easy to understand settings. I play a variety of games very casually, as most of you would, and I find it the most comfortable mouse I have used in all games I play regularly (SC2, WoW, LoL, a few FPS games). I use the palm grip on my mouse, with the weights in, which is the most comfortable for me.

All this being said, I am a bit of a TTE fanboy, with the Meka G1, TTE dasher, and the Spiral Headphones ( not quite sure of their name, I lost the box also). I just think that this mouse is my favourite of those I have had and am very lucky that it matches the rest of my gear.
