May 2013, the last month of an eventful one year long-distance relationship with my girlfriend. Needless to say being the last month of solitude, I was determined to play many games of HoTs. I was also very motivated to improve at HoTs, after laying an egg in Arena LAN (no offense to Satu and Taz, they were much better HoTs players then me there), annoyed at forever watching ZvZ finals, and always feeling underrated. Also reading this Being a foreigner right now - and ACL Brisbane made me realise I need to stop just being content at mediocrity and actually apply myself, because I know I can.
So it all began with this Facebook update shortly after Arena LAN.
However there was still the obstacle of work.
I knew I wasn't going to let a few committed hours stop me, I even had my stream set up. But I never thought I was going to do this
Or this (can you guess what the Blue and Golden horizontal lines represent?)
So I've been waking up, going to work for 9 hours, coming home to play/practice StarCraft for another 9 hours, sleep for about 6, and back to work again. EVERYDAY. Needless to say I'm currently on Voltaren and need to be very careful about pushing my wrists and arms into RSI.
As Pet would say #Dedication. Or I would say #Total Devotion.
I heeded your call Jared,
It is time for the rest of us to step up too, especially those bearing psi-blades!
All the best! ^_^
and yeah do some stretching exercises and take short breaks to prevent neck and muscle strains and repetitive muscle injuries, rest your eyes etc.

You make me feel extremely mediocre when I've only played around 400 games this season when I work like 10 hours a week on my gap year. Time to get my shit together.
Agreed I so wanna get back into the groove with this. Just living with the other half might have something to do about it haha. But damn man that's insane good work!
Light friend you are a hero man. Just keep in mind what they're saying, stretch, maybe stand up and jump around a little while your searching. It's so cool to see you practicing so hard but just make sure you don't injure yourself! Also maybe a little more sleep would be good for you? maybe you should look into those funky sleep patterns where maybe you sleep 4.5 hours before work and then 1.5 hours before sc2. Worth a shot?
Gl either way, I wish I could have that much dedication
This is really impressive, 9 hours a day is crazy! How many games a day roughly do you play? As in how do you spread your sc2 time between practicing and replay reviewing/watching streams?

I started playing on 29/04, so roughly 30 games a day. I very rarely watch streams, maybe just some tournaments, I did watch iG.Jim for a 2 hour session last last Sunday I think. I watch a replay roughly once every 10 games where I don't understand why I lost. Usually I don't because I pretty much know what mistakes I did or where I got outplayed. Spend a lot of downtime optimizing my builds and thinking about reactions to the builds which has been killing me.
