Yeah! its me again. Some of u guys may say that laddering does no literally improve your game but for me, it really has improve my games by a mile.
Well .. most of my ladder games, i always go for an aggressive build, im not sure if its the right choice or not, but im an aggressive player. I always would end my matches below the 15-20mins mark, if not then somehow i will most certainly lose in the late game.
Im so used to this type of aggression play and some of my friends even told me that this type of aggressive play is risky and its not a safe way to go. So, now im not sure, whether to play it safe executing a safer build order or just maintain the current mindset i have now?
Are we talking about a macro build with aggressive investment or you one/two base attacking nonstop for 15-20 minutes? You can play aggressively without cutting heavily into your lategame, and there's a big difference between relying on aggressive play and using aggression to set up an advantage.
If you wanna improve your macro then definitely start doing some more lategame aimed builds. It's not hard to learn the mechanics of lategame Protoss macro its just something you need to get used to. More importantly you need to just play into the lategame more and know what your composition goal is for, 3rd base timings etc.
You can still play safe while being aggressive, you just need to work in transitions and have a backup plan and not commit too much to your aggression. If you watch MC play he always has some kind of aggression planned but almost always takes another base, or techs up behind it to prepare for later on in the game.
In a sense you can always just poke around and see what damage can be done but just always back off and tech up if you can't just kill him then and there otherwise it's pretty much an all-in.
