SEACL has always been extremely important to me. The memories, the great rivalries, the team comradery and bonds, the competitiveness, and the drama within the previous SEACL's are unforgettable for myself. Just like SEACL2 marked my motivation to return to SCII after a long hiatus, SEACL3 has reignited some of my competitive drive for SCII, I simply want to contribute and not let my team down. I have thoroughly enjoyed competing for iM, and cheering for all my other favourite teams across all leagues. Although SEACL3 has been great so far, IMO it can get even better.
UHF posted an update on the SEACL Fantasy Rank/Stats today in the original Fantasy sign up thread http://www.sc2sea.com/showthread.php...ht=SEACL+stats. I suggested that a new thread be created for this. UHF replied that he elected not to create a new SEACL Fantasy Rank/Stats thread, due to avoiding stepping on Breadfan's toes. This is some great statwork/information that is buried under an old thread that is very valuable interesting information/content to many of us.
I urge Anor, Breadfan and other SEACL administrators to give the go ahead for people to produce content based on SEACL. Whether it be Statistics, predictions, summaries, previews and articles etc, for all leagues. This will make the entire SEACL easier to follow, and make it even more interesting and phenomenal then it already is.
Additional content that made previous SEACL's awesome:
Things that I really like about this SEACL so far:
Communication channels are far more efficient than ever.
Streaming of all SEACL tiers are available and abundant.
Every tier being organised in one general thread is absolutely amazing efficient. The results/scheduling/standings of all weeks being placed in the OP of each thread makes things so much easier to find. It is a freaking effort to have to find and look through countless threads to find the results were looking for. I urge the admins to update the results into their OPs (or if they are too busy, I'm sure many of us are willing to help out). That said,
The weekly summaries for all leagues has been absolutely fantastic.
Some thoughts about S Class league:
The matchmakers or random generators sure elected for a thriving start - Matching the top 4 teams of T1 definitely created huge interest and attention to the league. Out of the other 4 teams, I personally feel Avant ToR(with a Xzclamation mark)as the most dangerous that will give the top 4 teams a run for their money. ToT was supposed to be that team, but the absence of FlashToT and most of their top players smashing away at LoL has hurt this team's chances significantly. I would definitely like to see a turn around from them.
I am very pleased to have my current teammates in Team Immunity and have the utmost confidence in them. I never doubted Tgun a second during the infamous 1st game of Tgun vs Myuu. Yang's return was phenomenal taking a game of KK. Mafia is solid as always. Sunder yet to show his real talent, and most supportive guy ever in chat. Helen is a great manager in getting us organised for matches. I like our chances and our fight towards the crown for S Class. That said, the path will be ridiculously tough filled with many Infested Terrans. We shall fight through it!
Other then Avant ToR, the other team to watch out for is definitely Fray. Fray has a very deep and solid roster, with their top players getting some absolutely eye-opening results recently. Coming into SEACL3, they would have be the team that is the "most hungry", ready to show their grit against the iM/Nv stars that are still considered by the public to be in front of them. Falling to Nv and Moonglade in week 1 would have only made them more determined. Immunity and xG are right within their crosshair. I can say that for myself, these guys are definitely the guys I don't want to lose to, and will not lose to.
For this reason, I am looking forward to the playoffs! Will be so freaking exciting having a playoffs with the best teams in SEA going head to head.
AvToRdesu sick blog i think iris are being underestimated this season too MK is getting sick good.
fray are sooooo strong ninja and pet are really good so is iaguz man i love this game.
Ray have you checked out some of FSBenAD's Previews and Reviews and other bits in the Tier 5 thread. AWESOME stuff .
Teir 2 had Preview post in the thread for week 1 but so far none for week 2. always do love reading the previews and reviews not only for my teams games but for the other teams games as well
I have mixed feelings so far. I was extremely pumped up to engage all that S Class had to offer. I wanted to do previews AND reviews every week and follow the skill levels of both teams and players through-out the league. The streaming of matches so far has been extremely lackluster and it's impossible to do either of those things I listed when you don't get to see half the matches and there isn't any replays. We are already into week 2, and I've already missed a week 1 review and a week 2 preview.
Not only that, the games that were cast seemed like we were either scrambling or begging to get people to stream. I honestly though there would have been more interest for casting, but I guess not. If there simply isn't enough official casters, we need to open up the doors for more people.
Besides that, I'm willing to put time into content for SEACL (S Class at least), but I'm just not sure there is the method to do so, or enough overall interest to consume any content I'd produce.
Suggestion 1: Get more people for streaming
Suggestion 2: Ensure ALL the matches have a stream before it's actually time for the matches
I feel it needs the match ups posted at least a few more days in advance, so proper time can be given for previews and compiling of stats. I think now matches must be submitted by wed now? (at least for tier 2) which is a good start, but still sometimes matches start on wed/thurs/friday which isnt quite enough time
However, Rivalries aside - This League is going to be a lot of fun and I don't forsee a lot of surprising and exciting results.
I predict the top for will be (In no particular order): iM, Nv, xG and Fray. However the split between these four is closer than most think. I believe most of the series between these four teams will come down to the four match ups. Also the final standings will reflect this and how they respond to trouble maker teams such as Av.ToR, Iris and ToT. Desperation Move for me is more of an unknown - rather than a team I don't rate. I know that ProAnn can mix it with the best of the other SEA teams and am yet to learn more about the depth in their roster..
Good luck to all teams, I'm sure this will be a fun and exciting league!..

It's a two way street with casters looking for games to cast and for teams to request casting ahead of time. I for example was unavailable last week due to work but am really looking now at what games I can approach managers for. The more time in advance sets are made the more likely dedicated stream production and appropriate casting duos can be made.

Rogue has been making some amazing pie charts and updating statistics each week for T4.
