Some american terran who had some halfway decent 2010 results (I think?) made the move to korea for hardcore training, didn't get anywhere, made some videos, pissed an awful lot of people off somehow (not entirely sure how), got invited to Day 9's tournament where he had a ******* hard group, lost the first two matches in one sided fashion, conceded the 3rd match entirely, got flamed quite a bit for it.

I think that sums it up.

the reason he pissed everyone off is because for one he thought he was amazing; aka arrogant and elitist.

he believed that foreigners were horrible; anyone outside of korea was shit and since he lived in korea he was as such a very good player. basically his arrogance just incites overwhelming dislike.

edit: he also cheated in brood war for the WCG qualifiers if i recall correctly.

This is why I made the blog post, I think the situation with LS has become a lot of rumor mill type "he said she said" stuff. Trying to get him a bit more sympathy I guess, although I do think the interview is a really interesting listen in general.

Untrue. He has tons of respect for people like Ret, IdrA, etc and admits they're way better than him. He talks about his attitude in the interview.

he has lots of respect for ex foreigner BW pros, and smoe foreigners but if you ever watch his stream he often goes on rants about how shit the foreign scene is (well i remember seeing them occur first hand like a year ago), of course, once people realised he was bullshit they stopped caring.

Ontop of all the bm etc etc..

He made a hacking map on iccup in BW and went like 100-0 using it, after that everyone hated him.

He was banned from TL for rigging maps in BW, and it was either heavily rumoured (or confirmed?) that he cheated in other ways as well.

Recently he screwed up Red Bull Battleground, and people got cranky because people thought Day9 gave him a special personal invite that a lot of other people might have deserved.

I tried to listen to the video, but got really irritated by the way he talks. I also didn't believe a word he said about most of the stuff he talked about. A lot of excuses and rambling about nothing.

I don't know much about LastShadow other than he map hacked and spams APM a lot. And I've only seen one interview with him before, and I can't seem to find it again but he spent the whole 10-15 minute interview explaining why he map hacked and why people shouldn't think less of him because of it and generally trying to get sympathy for his actions

He never hacked. Common misconception. He rigged maps in BW when he was 13 or 14 and then had KawaiiRice tell him what his opponent was doing in WCG Qualifiers around the same time period.

Kids do dumb shit like this all the time. Many of the respected players in the foreign scene did far "worse" when they were younger.

After listening to that whole interview or im at 1:12:10 atm.
He did rig maps during BW in custom games but never did in a tournament. That doesn't mean his hacking since it never affected anyone. Though when he got someone to tell him what was happening in the WCG qualifier that was cheating and wasn't on.
With the Red Bull thing after saying everything that happened, if all that happened before he had to play then that is fair enough how he forfeited the last map.
If he was homeless and struggling as much as he says then you gotta feel for the bloke. It sounds like he has gone through alot and the community were treating him like shit and abusing him.

Day9 did him a huge favour even inviting him to that red bull tourney and then after the first few games went poorly for him he just disappeared even though he had matches left to play. Didn't tell anyone where he was going.

Mate listen to the interview, according to him he talked with day9's mum and day9 after his games with Squirtle and said he couldn't play any longer. He didn't just disappear with no explanation.

To the public, he did. When has it ever been released that he spoke to day9 or day 9's mother lol.

at the same time he deleted all his media - twitter/youtube got closed down. so people just assumed he disappeared.
