Korean Aus Teamhouse
 
Let's say in theory a practice house opened up in Tamworth. It costs you $50/week to stay but you have to bunk with other people. Tamworth has nbn (100/40 connection). You have to buy your own food.

How many of you would actually be keen to live there? Only reply yes if you actually can or would - no would like to but cant.

Tamworth, Toowoomba and Armidale are like the only places with it. Toowoomba would be another option, it's "close" to Brisbane.

Toowoomba is pretty far from any tournaments though. Would require waking up at a pretty early time to get there on time. On the other hand more pros in Brisbane=w00t!

EDIT: Keep in mind I don't know if its closer than Tamworth or Armidale to their respective cities.

Keeping in mind you'd be paying $50 rent, plus more for food (add extra as living with others always leads to missing food). What about utilities such as electricity, water, phone/internet?

Also remember Tamworth is pretty far from anything, and being a somewhat ruralish city/town you'd be moving there solely to be gaming, as jobs would probably be limited.

How many people would you be looking at?

Edit: Is the locations based on cost?

Also want to point out that having NBN will not give you much faster ping. you're still using the undersea cables which aren't being upgraded, it will only increase your speeds to Aus servers, or download speeds if you are currently reaching the speed cap under ADSL2 or Cable.

Also Echo what UHF said, cost of living is significantly higher than just the rent.

It wouldn't choke the connection having multiple people doing various activities though. Also multiple people could stream at nice bitrates provided they can find a server overseas they can get ~5mbps upload to.

same as any other team house id imagine? face to face practice with skilled people, any time, any where. Nothing beats grabbin a practice partner and saying "lets do this build 20 times in a row"

That's no different really than if you had their Skype or phone number and can call them. In the end you're still playing through a computer.
