Hello all, for people who don't know me i'm Gerred "Laughing Man" Lennon I'm a Commentator and Media producer for Quantic Gaming.

Now the reason i started this blog is because mainly i am bored and i'll be honest i've never really written a blog before i just kinda wanted to see if people liked this kinda thing and i might make this a regular thing maybe a monthly thing let me know.

Anyway, Casting Starcraft II is probably the most funnest and challenging thing i've ever had to do i love the game sooo much playing usually 20 games a day to keep my skills sharp. :P there are a couple problems with this method, 20 games is A LOT depending on if they are macro or cheese or a variant of both, that presents a problem if i wake up and haven't played a couple games at least i cast like crap since it's really tough to get into the groove of what the players you are commentating are going through/what he is thinking/ how he would react. These are all things that sound very simple or some people can do without playing a lot.

Moving onto maybe the hardest thing I've had to do consistently watch tournaments! this is probably the most tournaments are around 9am to 1pm - excluding GSL obviously even then that's a lot of time since it goes into the night a large portion of the time.

I find it really tough to balance time between playing watching tournaments and actually improving my speech, since i have found certain words in my own casting style that i need to eliminate that is pretty difficult look through any of my casts you'll notice i say "Like and Actually" wayyyy to much. Some of my close friends have pointed it out but i'm practicing to stop which again is actually more time taking away.

Now let's look at the positives now shall we,
I am incredibly lucky to get picked by a pro gaming team, i literally danced around my room when i found out i got the job 4 months ago. Mark Ferraz is possibly the coolest boss i've ever worked for not only a real businessman who cuts through all the bullshit and tries to solve stuff before it becomes a problem,

This ones gonna sound really weird, but honestly my social skills have improved a ton :P I can talk in front of a ton of people now and not get nervous, i remember back in high school i was really awkward haha

The friends I've made across the way,
Grubby, Minigun, Incontrol, Marc, Zoohair, Celebreth, Templar, mrlamasc, Gaulzi, Everyone at Quantic, Everyone at CSL, Everyone at the AHGL, Tumecsentpie, ColBarker, ROOTLeiya, Scarlett, dapollo, Team Invsion and most Importantly Aubrey

all these people i have listen are honestly the reason i do it for, i do a cast and i get people messaging me afterwards going man... "your casts are awesome" "When are you streaming again?" i guess i feel really proud of myself since well it's possibly the hardest thing i've ever tried to do. sure i know i'm not there yet... but hopefully eventually i'll get to cast something big that'll put me on the map, and i want to thank everyone at SC2SEA since i know i don't really post much i just usually lurk, you guys are a source of inspiration.

EDIT: I just got a letter from the AHGL (After hours gaming league) Which i'm casting now. Sweet!

One final point i started streaming 3 months ago and 10,622 Veiws and 207 Follwers - This is just me laddering which i'm blown away thank you to everyone for watching me hopefully i'll see you at my livestream on the 8th of December for 24 hours.

20 games doesn't take that long if you just cannon rush every game ^.^

I only cannon rush on SEA since i think it's good cheese practice.

I play macro on KR and NA usually.

Chase the dream, don't expect it to fall in your lap.
Work hard on improving on the things you feel are lacking in your streaming/casting.

Most importantly, support the SEA scene and show us what you got. I like to watch most, if not all, SEA tourneys, and I can't say I've seen you participate very often (in chat or playing). I know you are time poor, as I am too and so are many others, but to grow in the SEA scene you need to be seen supporting it and trying to get involved.

One suggestion: if casting is your main focus, think about switching to random and announcing your race as the game starts. You'll gain a better overall view of strategy in matchups, as opposed to knowing one set of match-ups better than the two others.

I like how as a caster you try to put yourself in the players' shoes. We need more casters like that.

he already plays random, has hit masters on korea with it.

LM is probs the best caster from the SEA region so it'd be sweet to see him cast some more tournaments from SEA.
