Maq Lan Experience
 

Saturday was MaqLan, a large gaming event in Sydney with various tournaments such as SC2, LoL, TF2 and others! It was run by SOGC, which are the guys who allowed us to run the IeSF Aus Finals from their venue, and are some pretty awesome guys.

I was at the venue to help run the LoL event with Kwan and some others but that didn't stop me from catching a ton of the SC2 event.

As you can see, Myuu came in first winning a Mech Keyboard and a Motherboard, TADivinity 2nd won a Mouse and afhraitToT in third won a Mousepad. Congrats to these guys ^_^

The event wasn't just about the tournaments however, it was a giant BYOC LAN for every type of gamer. Obviously there were tournaments to cater towards the more serious of gamers, but there were plenty of fun games for everyone else.

We also had the GSL Finals on the 2 big screens at the front of the venue, and even had some curious people who maybe weren't as aware of eSports being in a little awed watching the event. Had a few people even ask what it was, so yay for exposing more people to eSports

During the day, they had Laser Tag setup outside, with obstacles and everything, which I must say was a ton of fun. There was also a Gangnam Style dance contest (Don't worry, I didn't enter that one :P) and a ton of other fun events.

To those that missed out, make sure you check it out next time. It's not the same as the usual 'Go to Lan Cafe -> Play in Tournament -> Go Home' kind of event, but it's still a ton of fun.

Thanks to JT and SOGC for hosting the event, Asrathiel and DrGoose for admining the SC2 event, Maq uni for allowing use of their venue and Gamestah for casting the sc2 tourney The Gamestah guys are really cool as well, props to them, they've been around for a while and are always very professional

Seems cool, i thought the lan seen was basically dead in aus after the year 2000.
