Diamond to GM
 

Hey Guys some of you may know me some of you may not, If not im an aussie zerg player from brisbane aiming to be the youngest player (currently 14) to go pro. Im also pretty infamous for my amazing wall's of text and not using paragraphs for half my post's. So this week i decided to make use of the rest of my holidays and aim for masters, Id been masters on NA for around a week but i didn't really think that counted cause masters NA could be plat SEA if you take a look at some of the players. After 4 days of solid laddering i hit masters it was a pretty happy moment for me and I was really happy that i had set a goal and achieved it. But after playing quite a few GM's on ladder (And having a six game losing streak at the hands of a GM protoss Maphacker that goes by the name of |||||||||||||) I thought i might have a chance at GM.So for the last two days i've laddered hard, and today finally after returning from a day out i played my first game on ladder beating a Zerg. I was ecstatic to see that shiny logo appear on my screen. Thank you all for listening to me ramble and a special thanks to all of TCP who have been at my side thick and thin and without i would probable still be a plat noob with an APM of 5. Congrats Eros , I recently got into diamond and I am also aiming for GM as well. I'm currently 16 and still suck >.< share your secrets with me .

btw this guy just got promoted to masters this week from Dia, so it's pretty sick that he got GM as well.
You should also submit replays of ||||||||||||| if you think he's map hacking

Maru is actually 15 making him older cause his birthday is in July and mines in October or at least thats what Liquipedia says and thanks a heap mate im a huge fan

You can't really go pro from being a SEA GM, although it's a good stepping stone. A real testament to if you can really go "pro" is getting Korean Mid-Masters or Top 3 Masters NA+ (NA GM mmr)

SEA GM is like low diamond on KR, getting NA Masters is actually pretty easy but the difference between a Low Masters on NA to a High Masters is like a High Diamond from SEA to TOP 8 GM

grats mate, sea GM isn't the best GM but it is still a decent achievement . i also went diamond > gm in the last three days. probably a good idea to play on NA/KR as much as you can now to even further your skill level

You'd be surprised how often this happens (people going from diamond to gm really quickly on SEA server). The skill difference from high dia to low GM on SEA server isn't nearly as wide as on other servers, so once players figure out what they're doing and their play hits the next level they can skyrocket pretty quickly.

SEA GM is so dead that even a low masters(3 months ago) can get it from just plain playing the SEA ladder

Good luck on your quest! I'd suggest aiming to go pro as young as possible rather than to be the youngest :3 To add to the list of youngins I believe xGKingMyuu was picked up at the tender age of 13 :P

Laddering on NA will also help you improve a little quicker (:

GM on SEA isnt that good as other people have said, i am 14 and have got gm on SEA, but i dont care about SEA, i only practice cheese while i play on KR trying to get masters while i am still top diamond, i am top 8 master on NA which is alright but if u concentrate on NA and KR u will improve heaps rather than on SEA, use SEA to practice cheese and stuff or new builds u want to try while keeping gm on it so u play reasonable players and get good games but concentrate on NA playing properly and even KR if u want a challenge
