To Calm One's Nerve
 

So, I decided to play some SCII before my results come out (hurr hurr durr durr). I contemplated some 4s or maybe 3s till I realised something. It's 1:00am (3:00 to 5:00am for those further out east!) in the morning. Who would be up to play teams?

And, after about 2 months of not playing SCII 1v1 (save for a few recent practice games with some fellow members), I clicked the little orange/brown/amber button.

Within a minute or two, I found a game! Hey! Someone is still up! Then I found out it was a Sad panda My vs is very very bad cause I get so scared of expanding (have you seen those Ling runbys? Or that Muta harass?) and, despite being able to throw down Scans (*cough*Map hax*cough*) attacking cause you may never know what's lurking in the base ><

So, I was expecting a total defeat within 15 minutes. Didn't turn out that way :O Btw, map was Antiga Shipyards. Spawns were (I still can't tell how to tell for this map. It's retarded.) close. (He was 8 o'clock, I was 5 o'clock)

I decided to go for a 1Rax FE while our Zerg friend here went for a 15Hatch 15Pool. His scouting Drone harassed my SCV that was building the CC so it was a little delayed. This is the part where I just went all dumb dumb lol.

I built another CC (which became an OC. Those MULES and SCV production. Mmmmmmmmmmm) and went for Marine Tank Medivacs. Supply blocked myself here and there and when I checked my opponent's army, I see lots of Lings. Check his base. I see a Bane Nest OTW.

Panic stations everyone! I throw down like 7 EB into my lower ramp wall and pray that the combo of 3 Tanks and my new wall would hold. Minutes pass and nothing. I decide, hell, lets go for a drop. Three Medivacs worth and I find 2 Spores, a half saturated 3rd and Infestors.

Wait. INFESTORS?! I was sure I was screwed now. So, I just keep making units (Marines mostly) and kept dropping the third. Once the third was out, I went Infestor hunting with whatever Marines whom had survived the drop. I catch the last few Infestors when I see Corruptors fly past.

It took me a while but I finally did the math. Corruptors equal Broodlord equal I am so dead. But I knew I had some time so I churned out as many Marine as possible and spread my Tanks (now in the numbers of 10) out.

And then the attack came. A huge wave of Banelings came scurrying forward only to meet a wall of Tank fire. Then the Broodlords slowly drifted into view. The Broodlings were making a mess of my Tanks and so I ran my Marines right underneath them.

And just like that, the Broodlords were shredded to pieces. I was a lil shell shocked but recovered quickly to rally what troops I had left for a quick counter attack. I think my opponent was a lil shocked too as he had not rebuilt his army.

Best part is the chat log.

Zerg: trololol
Zerg: 2 Base Terran and makes one unit.
Me: Yup

Eventually, I kill enough things that he says one last thing and then leaves.

I felt a little bit better after that game. I also came to a conclusion.

Marines Best Unit In Game. Argue all you want but Marine are OP as hell. Blizzard can nerf s for all they want. Unless Marine removed, I sense that we Terrans will still have a place in making people QQ
