I just thought I'd share this, an opposite of how CNN portrayed us gamers.

Ironmen is a TESL (Taiwan Esports League) SC2 team, that held a press conference/event for fans as they're going to start competing internationally.

The host seen in the pictures, is a very well known TV host, he has shows everyday on prime time in local Taiwan TV.

In the video clip, he states to the reporters that he has acknowledged all 17 members of Ironmen as his god-sons, as he has a son in the states who is a gamer too, and being with them feels like being with family.

Sorry it's all written in chinese. I'm not the greatest translator, but IMO the pictures/videos can say for themselves.

- From here onwards they will be traveling to compete.
- TVBS, CTI, SET, Taiwan local TV channels came to cover the event.

In relation to how CNN portrayed us:
To be honest my reaction to these articles was quite positive. The way we as a collective were portrayed was not as bad as it seems, but that's not what's important. What's important is that e-sports is being recognised in contemporary society as something that could possibly be legitimate. People are asking the questions now, such as "how does it relate to the Olympics" as well as recognising similar training to Olympic athletes (time and dedication wise).

Lets relate this to how we see everything start the ball rolling in society, it's the media, and how they reach out to the general public to give information on a subject. No doubt from these media articles and news reports that some people, whether they're gamers from a different genre, or even non-gamers are going to pick up a copy of starcraft 2 and start playing, or maybe they may watch a game online in their Youtube suggestion box that they've been ignoring when it pops up. It's even more important that companies and organisations see how big E-sports is, we're so ignored for how big we're getting, and it opens up new sponsorship opportunities.
As they say, any publicity is good publicity.
Just thought I'd give my opinion on the whole CNN thing.
