So i've given coaching a lot of thought
 

As the title states, i've been thinking about starting to coach. Historically, i've never felt the need to coach. I didn't really desire money, I didn't feel the way I thought and approached the game was applicable to others, and I am not very good with making times historically.

Things have changed though. Money is a decent need of mine now, I have gotten a lot of asks about coaching and a lot of good feed back when I help people in battle.net and to top it all off my sleeping schedule is much improved, so times should be easier to make.

I'm not sure how to approach the process though so this blog is here for anyone to throw any ideas about the coaching process and also just to advertise this and see if people are interested . Things could include:

- How to organise money/how much to charge
- Advertising
- The times you'd best want to be coached (to anyone who's received it before)
- Good structures of a lesson (having word documents handy? etc)

Oh, and here is where i'd gauge the usefulness of my coaching by race

- Mid Master and below
- Mid Diamond and below
- Mid Diamond and below

for those who doubt his other races, you shouldn't,, this guys off race is ffffffffarking strong..

i reckon charge $10-15 per hour,
you should coach all levels of zerg
advertise on Googles front page
word documents handy, replay packs ready.

15 - 25 dollars an hour imo. Edge can coach any level of zerg, despite what he says lol.

Charge less the more you want to do it. Use paypal for most, bank transfer is ok but takes several days and only works easily in australia. Get used to using a calendar such as gmail or hotmail and remember to try and only do max 2 -3 hours of coaching a day so it doesn't drain you too much. Involving streaming with coaching and addressing stream questions will find you more people wanting coaching.

Write points for people ur coaching/force them to take notes. You will notice patterns in crap you repeat and end up writing documents to give structure.

Advertising = presence in community. Answering strat forums, writing guides etc all is the best advertising you can do. Also doing a stream show where you talk strategy is a good idea and ca..n be alot of fun. I used to really enjoy doing PiG's POV but unfortunately i don't have time these days .

I think you could coach up to high masters for Protoss and Terran and up to mid GM for zerg easy you have a strong off race id get a few hours for sure if you decided to do it.

Back when I was really bad(really really bad), I remember you helping me out so much with PvZ, boosting my winrate so much higher after listening to your advice!

Well since Cam has now got GM for three smurfs in each race - I'm sure he is capable of coaching up to Master league for all races...
Has such good game knowledge.. definitely worth $15-$20 for coaching.

@PiG Really helpful post dude! I want to do it but i'll still sort of dread having to bother doing it a fair few nights, so I won't charge too little. Yeh Paypal is what i'll use, i'm still getting used to it but it's pretty simple really. Yeh I was planning to do a few practice sessions and see what common themes there are that I talk about, and what people most often ask (i'll adapt this as I go.) I think adding things like my hotkeys, timings and scouting patterns would be the things I can plan right now.

@sPook thanks mate, I thought i'd have to be a fair bit better than someone do coach them since i haven't seen many masters onwards coached by PiG for example (when i watched)
