Road to Plat
 

Hey guys, my name is Larotac and I am a now gold protoss and I am new to SC2SEA. I would like to be more apart of the community so I have decided to start doing weekly write-ups. This blog will just be a practice run and will only be doing a write-up of my laddering tonight.

I started the night at about 5pm, losing my first game to a terran who dropped 4 hellions and 8 marines in my main after I failed to react to what I saw. I quickly got into focus and won the next 3 games.

My first win consisted of countering a 6-pool on talderim altar by walling off my main building a few zealots on the outside of my main and going into voidrays and phoenix as i pushed with the rest of my force.

The next 2 games were won because I out-macroed my opponents giving me fairly easy wins.

My 4th game was lost as my opponent opened with a 3rax to my 1gate expo which I was not abe to scout and i was forced to gg after my all-in failed.

I then went on to a 5 game win-streak defending against 10-pool pressure barely getting the win, defending against 7 roach pushes, bunker pushes and basically winning just by out macroing my opponent as i was in silver at this time.

I took a break after the 5 games and played a couple of 2v2s with my friend.

I came back to another loss, caused by myself being an idiot and all in-ing for no reason.

I went on to lose and win alternative matches before going on another streak.
in this 6 win-streak, I ended up getting bored in a few matches and cheesing just because i got talderim altar a couple of times.

After cheesing a match, i got to rematch the same person, and promised i would play a standard game. The game went a bit longer that the rest and at one point i thought I had lost when he had destroyed my 3rd and i was almost mined out in my main, but I fought back hard and got the win.

The rest of the games were pretty straight forward and after my fifth win i was promoted to gold league. i played one more match before logging off, managing to use pretty well placed force-fields to render the opponents army useless.

My night of laddering was pretty successful with me going 15 wins to 5 losses and a promotion to gold league. My thoughts to improve would be to scout better as that is how i lost a majority of my games. I also want to get my timings better as a few times i lost focus and absolutely screwed up my build.

Please feel free to give some CnC on the write-up. I will only be doing this once a week as i don't want it to get too stale, and i'm sure no one wants to read a blog about a gold player every day. I can also upload replays of the games that i went into detail above as i feel they were the ones i found most fun or the ones i had more trouble with.

awesome man I also got to gold around that day too hope we both improve and continue moving forward.
