B2GM - Episode 4
 

Achieved so far on the European ladder

Yesterday I decided to stop playing the European Ladder atleast the whole new season and try to get my level higher on the Korean Ladder. I´m not trying to achieve GM there, but the practice is better and I have less lag on the Korean server (now my internet its a crap and it takes some time to upload pictures and stuff , so sorry, no pictures ). So most likely I will try to play better, with no distraction of my European friends to play mod maps, and when the season finishes I will start playing on the European server doing my 5 qualifier matches again and hopefully skipping to , and hopefully my internet will get fixed by that time.

Winrates ATM vs Every matchup
Vs P = 70%
Vs Z = 60%
Vs T = 50%

(Viewing my last 10 matches vs every race) , and i ofcourse play vs people with a higher level and i count that in. Because if you want to improve you have to play with people who are way better.

Vs P, I 15 hatch 15 pool on big maps , I 14/14 21 hatch on small maps, mostly using a lot of ROACHES + infestors , some times Roach hydra + infestors , and rarely Mutaling + infestors.

Vs Z, I 15 hatch , 15 pool on Taldarim or Entombed Valley and scouting a lot for allins , 6 pools and stuff so its safe for me to do or a 14 gas 14 pool speedling pressure , transitioning into roach infestor.

Vs T, I tryed REALLY hard with mutaling, but its imposible, they have turrets before my mutalisk are out, engaging directly they´re really bad and I cant harrass anywhere, So now I´m playing Ling/bane infestor + a couple of roaches, with this I can stop 2 tank marine push, marine push , helions and almost everything except banshees and it works and ofc opening 15 hatch , 15 pool.

I´m playing A LOT, and I see I´m having a BIG progress, but most important im having a lot of fun.

on the vs P part. don't they usually have colosi and deathball army? that will kill the roach hydra ez so it rly depends on ur infestor micro? can also do u get corruptors if they go colosi?

On the ZvT front, you don't necessarily go muta to kill stuff in their base. Yes, harassing is great, but very rarely are you able to just make mutalisks and kill them.

The main reason people like mutaplay is that it forces turrets as well as the threat of the counter whenever they push out. This generally buys you more time to drone/whatever. Having mutas also greatly slows down any pushes they might make. Ideally, you'll be flying around the edges of their army as they push, picking off any stray tanks and small groups of marines (including reinforcements).

Along with buying time, this puts huge pressure on the Terran, often resulting in more mistakes from them (I personally find that harassing with mutas is faaaaar easier than defending muta harass, but maybe that's just me).

Of course, I'm not saying you have to play like this. I just found that I much preferred this style to the roach/infestor stuff. Maybe give it another shot?

idk take this with a grain of salt, I'm a pretty terrible player. Maybe one of the better zergs here can give you more insight?

Yeah, they usually have deathball , but I am really active scouting. So the response to that question would be stop making hydras , start making roach corruptor broodlords and infestors with the neural parasite. (Stealing inmortals or colosi is always great)

Yeah, Its cool that it forces them to make turrets and all that. I like mutas, i just think the mutaling bane build doesnt fit me. I sometimes make 5-7 mutalisks to harrass when im playing roach+infestor ling and I sliped on the macro and my gas went to high. I just think its easier to deal with the standard Early Helion pressure, 2/3/6 rax pushes or the marine tank pushes if I play this last build than playing Mutaling. Since I guess those pushes are designed to kill the standard mutaling on 1v1.
Anyway I will give it a try, I think its something im doing wrong so I´ll try to fix it.

you seriously HAVE to go mutaling/bane.. not because its the only viable ZvT strat but because it is one you must have in ur aresenal.


ust use the mutas to force stims, pick off seige tanks clean up drops ect and they are being usefull because they are also great in the big battles vs T.

Good on you for using infestors, a lot of low league players I know just assume they are bad with infestors and dont practice with them enough, when clearly they are jaedong incarnate with mutas When the irony is ling infestor is way easier for lower league players to do.

I went ling infestor for hundreds of games until I was good enough to use mutas, the babysitting those things take is ridiculous.

15 hatch on taldarim in zvz is pretty risky imo... very susceptible to 1base all-ins due to the lack of ramp.
