PvP in SEA
 

Have you ever get those feelings of wanting to play sc2 but just couldnt get to it because of no motivation? (SEEMS CONTRADICTORY)

Yeah well i do. (CAUSE OF PVP)

Playing the "easiest" race doesnt help.

PvZ is ridiculously hard to play(drone to 80 make lings make roach make broooooodlords and infestors). Well timing attacks helps alot so i allin pretty much 80% of my PvZ and get some decent winrate due to it. Yeah i know i should learn to macro but i cant ff 200/200 battle for nuts due to my crappy computer.

PvT is slightly easier since all the just makes MMMVG and effective timing attacks/ turtlish style would be able to beat them with a decent winrate.

PvP is most retarded IMO. Before i got into the shiny star league , i was pretty good at PvP. 1/3 gate robo FTW. But after i got into , PvP has become a cheesefest. LITERALLY. For example:

G1 PvP on meta(Certain GM Toss whose name starts with "M"): I knew he was going to proxy gate(OR CANNON RUSH) me the moment i saw his name, so what's the best counter for proxy 2 gate? PROXY 2 gate back! My gateways were earlier for some unknown reason(proly cause he started it AFTER he scout my base while i didnt scout). Won the base trade .

G2 PvP on shakuras: Went for 12 probe scout(usual scout timing), scouts for proxy gate location(who doesnt know shakuras is the i proxy 2 gate map) doesnt find anything, went to his base. First thing u see is NOTHING in his base. Then you'll be thinking, WHERE DID HE HIDE HIS PROXY GATES? Suddenly u see a probe in ur base going behind ur mineral line. (OH **** CANNON RUSH). He makes 4 pylon to wall off behind the mineral line and u goes FML. Then he proceeds to screw up his cannon rush by putting the cannon in a stupid place that cant be walled off further, enabling my zealot to chop through the (already damaged by my 3 probes) pylon to kill his 80% done cannon(it finished but died before killing my zealot). Leave without GG.

G3 PvP on shattered temple: AH. PLEASE NO MORE CHEESE. Proceeds to get 3?4?gated. Held it off with my 3 gate robo(i play so safe that 1 gate robo screws me HARD).

OH GOD WHY DO I PLAY ON SEA.

pretty much what nirvana said. learn the proper responses and just get ahead when their cheese fails. if you know someone's a particular cheesy player, scout earlier and send a probe to chase theirs as soon as it enters your base.
tbh i like early-midgame PvP better than the lategame anyway.

Calling your all-ins timing attacks doesn't make you somehow better than the people doing allins to you dude. And yeah high level pvp is 1basing your heart out, and usually someone gets a significant enough advantage from the openers that you have to severely out play your opponent to win if you get the worst of it.

Yeah I agree with pinder on one base PvPs, if i recall correctly him and I had some nice PvP games before.

And anyway, going 3 gate robo doesn't make one a more skilled player than people who go 4G / 2G 3 stalker rush. It's each individual's preference. If you're so sure that you're gonna get cheesed half the time just stick to a standard build that beats it and you'll be fine.

Anyway, you seem to have won all the 3 games of cheese so I'm not sure why you don't feel like playing anymore ??

Biggest problem is that 2 gate proxy requires me to scout the proxy locations which could be EVERYWHERE, i have no problem with cheese now and then, 4 gate now and then, 3 gate robo now and then but i hate it where EVERY single games is proxy 2 gate OR cannon rush. I cant even practice my own 3 gate robo since i scout proxy 2 gate every single game

haha just remembered

the other day i vsed a guy on shakuras. i scouted after gateway and saw his probe coming from one side, so i changed my scout direction and went straight to his base. saw nothing. as his probe comes into my base i panic and box all probes a click. he gets 2 pylons up, loses the probe. cancels. i've got my cyber core 50% done, and he hasn't started gateway.

so i follow through with the logical response and 4gate him with a proxy pylon, oddly enough, there's still nothing in his base when i get there, except a cannon in the mineral line.

and then 5 zealots come into my mineral line from FOUR proxy gateways and i try to pull probes to fight with the couple of zealots i warp in, but my internet chooses the best time to give me 1 second delay

and in the end i lost and it was saddening

Yeah - Light did that 4 pylon cannon rush to me on shakuras. now when i see that map i carefully watch out for a probe entering my base, if they get those 4 up, it's GG you can't do anything

Light did that to me too, I didn't manage to prevent his probe from getting those 4 pylons up, but after that I pulled all my probes and chrono-ed out a zealot, managed to kill the cannons off after they were up for like 2 secs.
You should try that next time, pull off all your probes and make sure you have maximum surface area to hit each pylon and it should be fine

go play on KR...yeah that's kinda the state of PvP, cheese/1 base all-ins/colossus wars, none of which are very fun. I actually miss 4gate vs 4gate, such good micro practice

lucky this is SEA where there's nothing but zergs :P

god I hate PVP so much! >_< I defended 4gate with FE and 2 gates before against plat tho ^^

For me I openly admit I proxy PvP all my games vs unknowns and feel no shame anyway cause its just a silly cheesy matchup and I have just created an extremely powerful variant of the double proxy gate which is really fun to play haha!!!

i actually jus played the mystogan guy he played zerg and 6 pooled me...but after i got my cannon in my mineral line up he jus kept building lings... and eventually ran in and took out my cannon and had to micro my probes and the one unit i was making at a time outa my gateway(warpgate obviously wasnt done)
was a crazy game and he eventually sent all his drones at me... (ended up winning so all good)
