Finally made GM!
 

Hi everyone! I'm Mrfool.439, it should be changed, shoutout thanks to nirvana for helping me change my name I was Lordadon if anyone is confused

Blogs were down for quite some time, so I haven't been updating, but it's up! Therefore, I'm gonna post and do an update of my journey in SC II.

About 3 weeks ago, I posted about me coming back to SC II during NS and aiming to get into GM. I've done it!

On a faithful saturday of 19/11/2011, I woke up to play 1 game and won 1 game and all of a sudden the screen turned black...

Was it an achievement?...

NO! I was promoted to GM league! I have waited so looooong for this omg!

I couldn't believe myself because before that win, i lost like 7 games in a row and beat enderr on wednesday ( during my night's out, my last game before i booked in ). And I was feeling REALLY sad and not thinking I would get into GM anything soon. I was gonna resent to my fate and actully waiting till next season before getting into GM.

AND IT HAPPENED! IMHAPPY ( Yeah I wish... ).

So... the next goal... after getting into ..

*To be the best in SEA*

Yes, I know it's a bold statement but I'm not giving myself a time limit for this goal. One day one day...

Now, a big thank you to those who gave me encouragement when I was having problems facing big names in SEA ladder. It helped. And I was really lucky to meet YYJ like 3 times on ladder to finally beat him at least once ( having some reallly close games ).

That game when I actually beat YYJ, was when my confidence actually grew. I always thought I could not beat them and always felt behind, but people were right, if i just fine tune some of my play, I CAN actually take on those big names!

Thank you YYJ and Ladder system Helped me alot! Now that my confidence barrier has been somewhat demolished... It's time to get other things done!

Another thing that happened was...

I finally removed my curse of losing in the first round of every tournament!

Back one season ( and even earlier this season )

I lost EVERY SINGLE TOURNAMENT in the first round...

Admins have this thing about putting me against really good players on the first round, like sensei, strafe... yada yada..

Well, this time, in MC10, I actually got into the round of 32! And lost to pokerface.

Time to join more tournaments!

Sigh.. actually.. I would love to be able to join much much more tournaments but being in NS, it's really hard for me to join all the tournaments available

And I do have one last thing to talk about actually.. it's about me looking for a clan... yeah I know i've been actively looking for a clan for the past three - four weeks... But I would like to sit back and think about it right now actually..

Right before I got promoted into , there were practically no one asking me anything about joining despite me hanging around in their channels and playing some with them :P But all of a sudden after getting promoted into ... I've been getting PMs about joining clans here and there and I'm quite taken aback by how much getting makes people want you..

Thing is, I dont want to RUSH getting into any clan and I'm currently put under trial for Team EVE.. But then again, it doesn't mean I will definitely join them..

For now, I would like to sit back and trial and look around some more because I would love to find a clan long term rather than rush to get into a clan where I won't enjoy or get good practise out of! I will most probably also go for a SG team because it makes it more fun/enjoyable/friendshipy if I can meet out with guys often yeah?

I don't know what people are thinking when they ask me to consider their clans.. So I'll post some things I would love to have in my clan ( future ). Yeah.. such is life, no one notices you until you get top 200 in SC II and actually beat some big names, no?

I dont want to rush joining a clan where I've been asked to join simply because I am and can add to buffer the roster, for training purposes ONLY and such you see.. I like a more long-term friendship approach like my WOW guild where we actually end up knowing each other in real life and form friendships and stuff! So good

1: Based in SG (yeahhhh!!! it's so hard to find high level SG players, I currently have like 0 In real life friends that play SC II ALOT)

2: Good mannered ( By that, I don't mean just being able to NOT BM alot, rage, be crazy after losing games. I'm kind of looking for friends too and I would love to mingle around good mannered SC II SG players )

3: Good attitude - VERY IMPORTANT***

People who don't all go 'YEAH THIS IS OP, NERF' and rage and rage and rage and rage instead of find/innovate a way to circumvent it. No matter what we think, it's up to blizzard to do the "balancing". If a nerf is coming, it will eventually come. Thing is, there are so many aspects to playing SC II like a gosu and I'm sure that OPness is not the only reason why we're losing the game! I'd rather focus on improving other aspects and keep my "oh that is OPPP rage" to myself and turn it into something useful, like forcing myself to improve in macro / micro / situational awareness to improve as a gamer overall!

And you know what? I've seen alot of such people in the clan channels I've frequented and don't get me wrong, I don't hate this kind of behaviour, I just don't really like it and I find myself go =X and shut myself up whenever people do that because... I'm generally a peaceful person and don't like going into arguments

To me, there is an endless list of things for me to improve in my gameplay. A HELL LOT.
( Please don't turn this thread into a 'YEAH TERRAN IS OP, THAT's WHY YOU'RE GM THREAD', if you think I dont deserve a , go ahead and flame me, don't flame , PLEASE. I've seen enough of those thread :\ )

On the top of my head, that is the three things I can think about and they are really important to me in my decision esp point NO. 3.

In conclusion, till I find a suitable clan for me to call home, I won't rush it and I definitely won't settle.

Even if it takes me a long time. Being in SG, I've had friends who constantly demoralised me, do mini-taunts at me and I've endured those long enough. When I tell them , I'm gonna get GM this season, they'll tell me things like ' You also not GM yet! Play so much for what! Also won't be GM, come play "random game like maplestory/ CS / LOL / yada yada yada" with us la! ' and things happening like people telling me how good they are in Starcraft II and winning ALL THE TIME ( they tell me 80% and above kind of thing ) - They're actually in bronze-gold - and telling me is NOTHING.

I can endure not having a clan for awhile.

Yeah sorry this is a long post and some rants about my life and I'm sorry if I've offended anyone.. Never mean to!

With that, I've actually got to book in REALLY SOON and I need to sign off although this blog post is badly formatted(?) and not well structured (haven't done any editing at all).
