Why do people continue to argue after they know they are wrong?

I wonder what the first aboriginal to see a white man thought when he saaw them.

Why is there gravity on Earth but not in some other places? Does gravity weigh anything? Is it a thing?

How the **** did someone invent the internet? seriosuly think about what ist its and how did they tink of it?

Do you reckon dogs remember faces or smells? Like when they see someone they know would they recognise them or their smell?

It exists in many places I think. It's a law of physics. It's a force exerted by a mass (such as the earth). I learnt more about this in physics but i forgot everything cos now i'm an arts student woohoo.

gravity is actually the force being exerted on a body because of centripedal force....i think...of the earth on your centre of gravity where the force is supposedly acting upon

People become too invested in an argument. It gets to the point where your ego is on the line, instead of the argument. It is hard for a person to admit that they are wrong, even when it is obvious. If they did not realise they were wrong until they are heavily invested in their opinion or point of view they have stopped defending the idea and begun to defend themselves.

In the end it comes down to a matter of perspective. People who can not or will not give up a lost argument are people who have lost sight of what the argument actual means. They have given the argument itself and their own need to be 'right' higher priority than truth or the person that they are arguing with.

Probably that he was seeing a ghost. I think I have heard this about a few different indigenous peoples. Not sure if it's true or here say though.

People, correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the Internet was originally a data network built specifically for the US military to help with communications. Bit like telegrams, but more sophisticated. Eventually the larger parts of it, after it had grown significantly, because publicly accessible. I don't think it was designed for use as The Internet as we have today, but that it started out as something small that has grown and morphed into something massive. People did not invent The Internet, they invented ARPANET and it grew into The Internet as more and more was added to it over the years.

Dogs do remember to some degree. It would be interesting to study whether they remember consciously or whether it is trained behaviour, but they would definitely associate sight and smells or a person.

I am curious though, were you asking about sight and smell in general, or which one is the bigger factor?

I think it was some scientists instead of the US military that first used the internet for sharing their information with each other. I didn't bother to search it though, so I may also be wrong.

The basis of the Internet was invented by a scientist in CERN for sharing information with other scientist working on the project I believe. Guy won a Nobel Prize for it too, I'm pretty sure wikipedia has the rest if you're so interested.

Erm if Pavlov's Dog (google it) tells me anything it's that dog's rely mostly on smell and sound. Their inability to distinguish colour means that sight is probably not an effective means of acquiring food, though I may be wrong.
