BSG Open Goes on Hold
 

Laidies and Gentlemen
to the members of the BSG & sc2sea.com community

It is with great sadness to announce that the BSG Weekly Open is going on hold due to lack of players in Bronze Silver and Gold wanting to play / being able to play.
Over the past 4 months i have seen a steady drop in players attending the BSG and recently a plummet to sub 8 players signing up for 3 weeks in a row. Alot of this is due to heaps of Promotions to higher teirs and also the fact we gamers live full lives outside of SC2. Be it Highschool , Uni , Full Time Job, or just not feeling like competing the BSG has hit its lowest while i have been an admin.

Some talks are in the work for something to do less frequently but nothing has been confirmed or even fleshed out and is only in conceptual Stage.

Thanks for all the time you put into this Wolf. The BSG is was lead me to find the aussie scene in SC2.

A massive thanks for hosting it as much as you have, I hope to see it up again in a few months time when there's some more interest

Oh that's unfortunate

Hopefully in the few weeks or months the interest will rekindle and more BSG will compete!!

I had a feeling this was coming. A lot of the regulars got their promos and well... that was that more or less.

Casting these BSGs was a great source of entertainment and I hope everyone that tuned in enjoyed my streams. I'm putting my hand up here and now to offer my assistance in any way I can provide it to bring the BSG back to its heyday

The BSG has been one constant in the community it is a shame that it has to be put on hold again, due to the lack of interest . Thank you guys for all of the hard work you have done keeping this tournament going over the last couple of years.

A question, have you guys considered making the BSG Open a tournament that could be accessible to TL users? Obviously there would be issues with the logistics of having a BSG tournament expanded to different regions, but perhaps it is a well needed action in the face of an ever declining player base. It could be awesome to see new faces in the community as a result of this

With region lock changes that came with HotS, this is a big possibility. Anyone can now jump on SEA and play a tournament, it just depends whether the lag is too much. I would support this sort of thing because I benefitted greatly from having the BSG open to compete in (and try my hand at casting), and really hope others can as well.
