proposal for the next team league
 

So im a bit behind the time but why not for the next team league have the 8 coaches or players choose thier teams in a draft format??? would create more good matches and entertainment imo. heck i dont get to play sc2 anymore with shit net and not enough time but id tune in or stream it just for the fact choosing a winner would be way harder. imagine if say Nv (for example) were all the captains and got to choose players each. friendly rivalry to the max

Not a bad idea, especially as there are already a few powerhouse teams, and a few super teams when they merge together. Good chance to bond with new people.

How would you pick captains? Otherwise I think it's a cool idea and would be a lot of fun.

Who will run it though, and then players will have to be willing to play regardless of what team they get picked onto. it's i sick idea but i can see it falling apart if it's not done right

When can it be played and when can it be broadcasted, because I guess the whole team can only be together on a weekend, and there are SYF Sundays, Master Cups and everything on the weekends

It will have to run sometime mid year i guess, or at least in a couple of months, as ESLTC team league is currently running.

could it be done like the bsgpd team league.... organise a team, ?/? have to play each week, matches that are highly anticipated or that team want broadcasted can be organised by respective teams?

other way around broadcasting i've seen working for taiwan is replays uploaded or sent to a chosen broadcaster (so would need a few) and results arent posted until cast?

just have like 8 teams round robin top 4 play offs, then make it proleague format(non all kill) So every player counts. The captains should be selected as the top 8 rated players by the pool of players playing. then just have the criteria for entering the pool as so many points on kr masters. like ideally youd want like 8 x 8 so 64 players so maybe even just kr masters idk but i feel this would make a team tournament way more interesting as sea kinda has group of really good players in the same teams.

MK, I think players should opt into it, so a random player doesn't just get selected to play even though he doesn't want to play at all, and when they decide to sign up to the team league they'll have to understand and accept that they may get picked for a team or captain that wouldn't be /their/ first choice, but they still have to play and put full effort nonetheless.

And if we used a similar idea to the SeaTL, where it's not just GM or masters and up, but instead where we had slots; like, maybe 1 GM, 2 Masters, 2 Dia / Plat and 3 BSG players per team? The distribution is irrelevant, just an example, but you get what I mean by it (I hope :P) So yeah, with that sorta format we're not scraping the corners of the SEA community to get every single Master and GM player, while the entire Dia and down community watches, but instead involving a lot more players and reaching further out within the community itself.

And yeah, captains could be selected numerous ways; as Elusory said we could go for top 8 in the #Dedication thread, or we could look at the top 8 results in any large scale SEA tournament.

There could also be rules such as no selecting more than 3 players from any one clan or something, I feel that would prevent teams from basically being clan teams, and make for a lot more interaction and communications between players and captains that have not worked with each other that much. I dunno, maybe others may dislike it, but I personally would find it more fun to watch completely new teams with very diverse faces amongst each other, rather than watch the exact "AxS Team" vs "ToR Team" that we've seen before in clan wars between AxS and ToR. That's why I'd suggest some sort of rule.
