What do you call these things again? Feelings or something?

I didn't really wanna sit here and think how best to start writing this thing. I'm not a writer, I'm a dude who sees something that is broken and hits it with a hammer until it's fixed. So on that note I am stepping down from the majority of mGG leadership responsibilities. Asra and myself will still be around in much the same capacity as Thoth and Muex, to advise when requested and to run things when needed. But for the most part I'll just be another bloke around the place with no special responsibilities.

I had always planned to consider whether I would hang around after SEANA concluded anyway. And I always kinda assumed that I would still be around to make sure that SEANA 2 was bigger money, bigger players and an even bigger success. But at this point in time I don't have the heart for SC2, I don't represent what an mGG leader should represent and I'm not entirely sure I represent even what an mGG member should represent. In the vast majority of ways I am proud of the past 18+ months that I have been involved with running mGG alongside Alpha and Nem. All told we have some massive things to be proud of. A 9 clanwar winning streak, players into ACL groups, players in sponsored teams and an international tournament that clocked thousands of unique viewers and got mentioned by casters of both WCS and MLG ("Oh, I saw Puck/Polt play some sick games on the weekend during this little thing called SEANA").

But I also know there were many things I didn't handle properly. When ViBe got pissed at how long SEANA was taking, telling him to suck it up might not have been the best move ever. On the other hand we told everyone the bracket format so he should have known. 50/50 on that one. There was supposed to be an awesome write up after SEANA as well, and there was half of one, but I never got around to finishing it. At that point it was so heavily (and unconsciously) NA biased I couldn't in good conscience post it. So it never ended up getting done at all.

But mostly my regrets surround my failures in properly being a LEADER of mGG. To me a leader knows everyone under his wing's name and all their hopes and fears. He should be sitting down with them every night and talking to them, watching them play. Helping if able. And that is not something I have done to my satisfaction this year at all. I'm sure there are probably a few members who don't even know I'm meant to be a leader and perhaps haven't ever spoken with me since joining. I regret that we used to have the tightest knit divisions of any clan The mGG BSGs of 2012 were amazing. We would train together every night, go into every clan war knowing the result of each round before it happened because we were so in tune with each other. But then promotions come into it and certainly mGG BSG has never stopped being great, but never have we been as close either (But Vortex, Shade, Brax, Irish, Abyssal, and the list goes on, have such as bright future ahead if they maintain their current closeness).

Probably the final straw was Light's blog noting how isolated and alone he had felt. A member of my own clan coming out like that, I knew some pretty big failures had occurred somewhere along the line. These are the kinds of things that don't happen on my watch. Because I'm a perfectionist and I always get the job done. Except I haven't been doing that lately. So it's time for a change.

Nem has been with us since forever now. Slowly taking on more and more responsibility and I think one of, if not the, most enthusiastic mGGers we have. I would ask that Nirv take my "Leader of mGG" tag and pass it on to her *sniff*, as well as directing the recruitment applications to her (and still Alpha ofc) instead of me. I am certainly more proud than disappointed in my time as a leader, but there are other people with bigger hearts and more commitment than me, and they deserve the opportunity to steer.
