elimzkE whinging about ZvZ
 

SO! As many of you may or may not know, I am one of the main culprits behind the #foreverbronze tag :]
In the past 2 weeks, I have gone from losing 8 games in a row to winning every ZvT and ZvP in bronze and silver that has been unfortunate to cross my (fast expanding) path.

However, this is not the case for ZvZ. When I play against another zerg, whether they be Bronze #1 or fresh out of practice league, I am always doomed to lose. If I go speedlings first I get hit headon with banelings. If I spot speedlings first I try to go banelings and then get molested by roaches. If I try to fast expand I get mauled by speedlings.

IT'S A TOTAL MESS.

Anyway, I've had a full think about it and I think I may just 14pool mass speedling and try to attack economy. Depending on the outcome I will either expand or 1b roach. I DUNNO.

If my ZvZ doesn't improve in the next week, I'll make another whinge blog posting specifics and replays so everyone can see how to perform strategies that will keep you #foreverbronze ;D

On the other hand, thanks for the tips earlier Flaunt, and I'll practice trying to keep up that 15 hatch + hold off early pressure ^_^
I'm confident that if I can make it into the mid-game with minimal economic damage I will win the macro game... just gotta perfect those early game mechanics! Rawr!

Sounds like you're approaching it wrong, just need a better idea on how ZvZ should be played.

wow I am finding the opposite in my few games, I feel that I am starting to get zvz and starting to lose it on zvt . I hope you work out whats the issue.

And on a tangent I have typed in foreverbronze on the chat and its always empty :s so im just wondering how your progressing with it

You could even try some 15 hatch all-ins, and the reason for why it works is that you will have more larva than your opponent.

But I agree with you that it's really frustrating. It's my build of choice too.
However, it is more or less a build order loss against an early pool opening (e.g. 10 pool banelings)

I've tried so many different things, and I seriously CAN NOT hold off any first attack.
Seriously, if I could JUST HOLD OFF THE FIRST GOD DAMN ATTACK, I would be fine!

I just played a match on shattered temple. Hatch at 15, pool at 15, scouted he had a roach warren at the same time i threw down my pool.
