I feel like this blog is necessary for a few reasons. The most important reason being I want people to be able to be at peace regarding what transpired during yesterday's WCS broadcast by knowing the full story and to apologise for any negative experience anybody had as a result.

2012 ended a great year of StarCraft for our scene. After an excellent WCS final where we saw Australian and New Zealand champions, PiG and JazBas, fall in the Oceanic finals allowing Mafia and mOOnGLaDe to step onto the world stage. 2012 ended with the SC2SEA power ranking placing the players in this order:

Ok i thought this had to be pointed out, as i write this blog there is currently only about 100 GM's on SEA and i wouldn't be lying if about 30% of them aren't even active enough to stay as GM. A lot of our pro's (who i won't mention for confidential reasons) have purposely or accidentally dropped out of GM or don't ladder to GM for reasons like...

1. i heard GM's say stuff like you can win like 2-8 points but then lose 20-30 on the ladder which makes spending the bonus pool difficult.

Hihi! Decided to start trying to blog after being inspired by my friend x5Bard's improvements and progress blog. Also, my favourite Chemistry teacher said that putting goals down on paper makes them real and more tangible, which is why he got us to all write 'I will get an A in Chemistry' at the start of the year. SEAL Tier 5 was a BSG team league with a couple of plats thrown in. Some teams had paticularly low level rosters and certainly entered with a philosophy of playing for fun. Others quickly established themselves as teams to be feared. Teams made light hearted taunts and boasts, Volition wrote excellent weekly round ups that kept everyone in the loop and a sense of community within t5 emerged. I was 2-2 in groups at ACL before I had to play my team mate Pokerface. If was lucky, a 3-2 finish might be enough to put me through to top 8, assuming everyone else except ninja was 3-2 or worse. I hate it when people discuss balance without taking into consideration the skill of the player. Why? Because when people discuss balance there are always bias arguments about the adjustments that need to occur. For instance a Zerg player is more likely to say that Zerg is under powered and a Protoss is over powered, where in the reverse situation (Protoss on balance) assumes that both are fine.
