My name is Fourby, I have been playing starcraft 2 seriously since around February/March, ranked around 15-20 Masters. (yay!)
The game it self is amazing, at first when I played it in around November last year I didn't really get used to it and just gave up lol. But after finding someone to practice with (Bishop, P GM) he showed me the main structure of the game and some basic builds, and since then I have been starving to learn more and more about the game.
Seeing as this is what all the cool kids are doing nowadays, I talked to a guy about a guy and got me a Korean account. Add me on if0r6@hanmail.net if you have one yourself.
I'll talk more about it later, but I will say that Korean bronzies are pretty good.
EDIT- OK, hows about some first impressions?
1) Koreans are unrefined. At least the 'low' level ones are. All they know is how to execute a simple one, or two base, timing and that's it. They execute it ok enough, some decent micro but... [Read More]
Most of you here won't know me because I'm not really an active poster on this site, but I do check here everyday and read a lot of the stuff here because this is such a great community ♥♥♥
Anyway I'm a high gold Zerg who's had a lot of struggle and fear in ladder. This blog is just how I've over come my fear of ladder because I know/hope that other people out there are intimidated by the ladder like me.
When I first got the game I didn't go into ladder straight away, I told myself I would... [Read More]
Now, Im sorry to disappoint some of you, but I don't really want to analyse my games for the community. Why? Im lazy as heck, and it actually takes a surprising amount of time to:
1. Find good replays
2. Go through them, screenshotting as you go
3. Resize the images and put them on an image hosting website
4. Write up a GOOD summary of each game
5. Repeat until you're gosu
So mad props to crAzerk for being a beast in that regard.
But then I asked myself, well what else could I... [Read More]
I can't help but think with recent activities that has been happening to me in SC2, it's almost as if some supernatural force is trying to get me away from the game.
- Knocked out first played round in the last four tournaments I've played in (played over the past couple of months). I decided to play in tonight's GPD because for once, I didn't have any commitments, only to get knocked out in my first round of playing, and this is AFTER I took a full week break from SC2.
- Consistently... [Read More]
So I barely avoiding a 10 loss streak and I got soooooo unbelievably angry
So in the hope of this allowing me to at least get some sleep I'm writing about my ladder sessions
After several good wins in 2v2 went to do some 1v1 ladder and the moons must have been aligned because I simply could not catch a single break. I played several randoms for some reason - more than I have played in my entire 1v1 experience (well not really but its closer than you would believe)
Every single one of them... [Read More]
Laddered with HuT a bunch of times today, and wow did we just play an epic game.
So lately i've heard whispers of a new Terran cheese rush where they stop scvs and get 3 raxes at 11 supply, get their OC then instead of mule make it call down supply and rush HARD with all their scvs with marines streaming in from 3 raxes. It is supposedly super hard to stop, especially at close positions and impossible if you do not make a zealot early. Now i never knew it was THAT hard until playing it... [Read More]
Since my first blog entry, I have been exceptionally busy. Work chews up too much time (I miss my uni days), I played my first Magic: the Gathering tournament in about 6 years, and have been going out for dinner a bit. Overall, means I haven't played that much Starcraft in the 10 days since my last entry. My match history says I have gone 7-4 in this time, a game a day. I will be getting back into it tomorrow night and all weekend, trying to push my MMR a touch higher so I will... [Read More]
Why? Because I got accepted into clan SPR, and Zergtastic is a pretty lulzy username imo, not a competitive one. I want one that at least looks more serious.
I've been hesitant to make this blog simply because its just asking for other people's opinions, and I should probably decide for myself. But Im really unsure about it still, so heres some of my better ideas:
For those new to this blog post, it cant be ZergtasticSPR, thats 13 characters. I... [Read More]
Hello my friends. Recently after watching a stream at 2 in the morning i have found that our good friend tgun has designed a new way to play Starcraft, and i must say it has some effectiveness.
DISCLAIMER - This blog is entirely not SC2 related, and is more of a personal kind of blog. If it's not your kind of thing to read about some random dude, then you can stop here
I originally posted this on my personal blog, but thought I'll just post it here too to let people who are really bored have some reading material
For the benefit of the non-Singaporeans reading this, the Individual Physical Proficiency Test (IPPT) is an annual fitness test that all Singaporean males (after they... [Read More]
I am an ordinary sc2 player that decided I would write about my experience playing this game. Read it if you want, dont if you dont. I suppose the purpose of this blog is to resolve that question that is in every newbies brain - why am I gold? Firstly introductions:-
I am Volition (Volition.893 also known as Josh) and this is my first RTS. I purchased the game in about December, and started playing as protoss for a while.... [Read More]
I've been skeptical about the whole 'E-Sports' idea for a while, and something just occurred to me to reinforce this. It concerns the difference between E-sports and other sports.
No regular sport is controlled and kept alive by a single company (afaik anyway). SC2 is the intellectual property of Blizzard, so they have complete control over it, and would be very unlikely to allow any infringement of their IP. Other sports however, are often universal, played around the world, and owned by... [Read More]
Those who don't know or haven't noticed, on my YouTube channel (which has been the place where I cast most), I've started a series of VODs categorized as [SEA vs WORLD] under my SC2 Commentaries folder on my Channel. I've recently found a huge interest in watching and casting many of our SEA players against some famous players out there. Featuring aLtPiG, Jazbas, and also Targa. These are all reps that have either been sent to me, or were found in some of the replay packs around... [Read More]
Right, so now, I'm a newbie to this forum, just came in today in fact. I really suck bad at this game. You know TotalBiscuit? Yes, I'm like him. First I kinda went AWOL from SC2 because of National Service crap. So when I returned for Season 2, I'm now even worse. And partly because I play on my laptop which is the only machine in the house powerful enough to handle the game, soon i'll have to swap to desktop, but I dunno when. Here's my profile though:
After reading through CrAzerk's I felt like doing a similar thing of my own would help improve my play. (Note: My writing skills may be subpar haha.) And yes I"m stealing the road to GM idea =P.
Alright so I'm NXZ a 1500 point master zerg. I have been playing sc2 since January and sc1 for a few years before that. Im writing this to help improve my knowlege of the game and have the motivation to look through my replays.
YoYoYo
I've been pretty inactive over the past couple of weeks due to the remainder of uni (as explained by my 230+ bonus pool o_o) but now I'm back and completely active for a whole month! ^_^
To cap over the past couple of weeks, I was in a little bit of a slump due to lack of practice. Moreso against Terran (IMBAAAHHHHHHHHHHH :P) because my micro is shocking and simple decisions such as splitting my army in half and attacking from two directions just seem bypass my limited brain at the... This is my first blog so I uh, don't really know what to type, but I'll give it a shot. I'll try to keep it short and sweet if I can.
So after spending 3 hours in the car and getting lost multiple times, myself and 2 mates finally find the Cityhunter cafe. It's only my second LAN event and their first so we nervously begin setting... [Read More]
Well, it's 9:30AM and I've just arrived back home in Melbourne. So let's rewind 30 hours!
So. It's Saturday morning. I couldn't get to sleep until like 11:30PM. With just over 4 hours sleep, I find myself waking up at 3:45AM and walking straight to the fridge to plow through my first Red Bull for the day whilst getting ready to take a taxi to the Melbourne Airport. For some crazy reason my girlfriend insisted on getting out of bed to drive me to the airport. I was fine with getting a cab,... [Read More]

Hey guys, I've alot to say so I'll try to divide this up into meaningful sections so you can read what matters to you. It is pretty long and reflective, so if you're the kind that's 'TLDR', you can stop reading.
I know I said in previous blog posts that I would be continuing the series about my games in Masters League. However, after much deliberation, I have decided not to. A few reasons led to this
