After making what was a bad day into a good one.
A few very near losses in the morning, into some great wins during the day.
I was actually fortunate enough to have coaching today from the famous SQLttYang.
It was awesome.
Some great PVP insight. certainly learned from it and am planning on doing it again some time soon.
After the coaching i used what i had just learned to dominate a protoss opponent. Moving me closer to the number one position.
There is currently about 20 points... [Read More]
Hi guys, I thought I'd write a blog on ACL too now that Dox is taking questions and addressing some issues that ACL had running its first ever sc2 event within the league.
Atmosphere: 9/10
Fantastic, there is nothing quite like being in a room filled with some of the best sc2 players in the country! It was great meeting a few people for the first time (Rossi, Iaguz, Phoneheha) and it was great seeing people that you'd met at other events and/or talk to online all of the time (Signs,... I'm collecting feedback and questions from a range of threads and sources in an attempt to deliver a concise response to the community on behalf of ACL. Additionally, we're looking for some feedback/testimonials from various angles of the event - including stream quality, commentary, venue, PC's, internet connection and schedule. Feel free to post that stuff here.
As a few of you may already know this Friday is my last day at work. Unlike most of the top gamers in SEA I am one of the few who works full-time, most of my spare time is currently spent going to gym/going out with friends thus leaving me with hardly any time for practice and all of the tournaments I go into with zero practice.
For those of you who do not I had planned to take a break from work to go travelling with some mates however that fell through for multiple reasons with them... [Read More]
So the ACL Gold Coast event is now over, and we have had some time to calm down, let me just lay out some of my
personal thoughts of the event.
Atmosphere
The atmosphere was pretty spectacular, granted it was my first major LAN event of anything and I was really impressed, and actually quite
excited about being there.
Seeing some familiar faces that I have met before (Solis, elimzkE, Signs) and meeting up with the big names
(PiG, Rossi, Iaguz, Yang, Infeza, Chadman,... [Read More]
I started with a surprisingly easy win.
good way to start off what was to be a 3 game loss.
This got me mad? im not sure if mad was the right work but it was soemthing lilke that as it was just small mistakes that all started to add up . I watched the replays and noticed i was getting supply blocked every possible chance.
This was a pretty bad feeling from these loses .
However some linked today a great video that helped so much.
Recently i have noticed a lot of talk about ladder Anxiety throughout multiple forum sites.
I had never really considered this to be a real thing until i started reading some of these posts.
To be honest, I suffer from this pretty bad.
every time i ladder i feel like I have to win otherwise i am getting worse at the game.
I guess going on major loss streaks doesn't help with this either. However after i win a couple of games i don't really want to play any more. This is because i am... [Read More]
After meeting so many people at the ACL Gold Coast event I wanted to stop being a lurker of the SC2SEA forums and formerly introduce myself. So hi hi everyone my name is Charles "Churlz' Scott I have been playing SC2 seriously since December 2011 I am 19 years old and I am currently in my final semester at Bond University studying business with a management major. I play Zerg and have been picked up by Nerve Gaming.
I came back to SC2 when I found out there was going to be a serious... [Read More]
Aight, I made a blog post a while back about getting Random to the top of SEA. At the rate I'm going, it might happen, but it's gonna take a ******* long time. Unless I achieve some sort of mental breakthrough - which is just waiting for chance - I don't think I'm going to be able to achieve it just by massing ladder games. While I won't say it's impossible, I don't think it'll work for me, and so I'm gonna try 'off-racing'.
50 games as Protoss, 50 games as Zerg, 50 games as Terran. In... [Read More]
Wow! My first time blogging after so long and my first sc2 blog post ever. This is purely my own personal opinion towards random players.First of all, I'd like to say that it is rude for players on ladder to ask this question to a random player ... " What's your race ? " Sometimes, I'd just answer, " Chinese " while sometimes, I'll just screw him up. If it's a friendly game, I don't mind to reveal my race but since that its a ladder game, I think I deserve my early game advantage as I need to... [Read More]
I just personally find protoss to be the sickest race to play and to watch. Of course, this is very biased since I have pretty much no experience playing terran, and less than a hundred games as zerg. But still. The other races just don't excite me as much
Here are some things that I find exciting while watching games: Zerg: Baneling landmines. And nydus worms. But we don't see those very often. What else... fungal growth? Those are sometimes... [Read More]
I was inspired by Fourby's post to write the following blog which is for the TA website but figured that I should share it with the rest of sc2sea. Oh and TAPinder,TAEdgE, TAEdgE, TAEdgE, TAEdgE I love you.
Hey guys! It’s been a while since I’ve made a post so I figured I’d to do a bit of a blog this time around to talk about my favourite moments of 2011 as well as what I have planned for our 2nd year anniversary. I really don’t know where to start. 2011 was an amazing year for me. It... [Read More]
I just made the mistake of trying to play standard against a Protoss and forgot that they can win on one base.
What's stronger than a 2 base 6 gate timing/ 7gate all in ? A 1 base immortal all-in. (ok maybe not, but I've had more practice with the former than the latter)
(All games were from TCP vs iRL in SEACL, basically me vs ZiggyD)
I just made the mistake of trying to macro against a protoss on TDA.
I crushed his first big push destroying all the collossi w00t! 180 supply (80 drones 4 base, 5th building) versus 110 supply protoss (on 3 base!), what's this? he has psi storm and is warping in blinkstalkers off 15 gates? Goodbye to my counterattack in a matter of seconds. It's ok, im on 5 base and im trading armies. It should be fine, he's contained to 3 base.
HI ALL. ProAnnn here. Bored in school so decided to do some predictions on SEAPL
Hope that it won't affect the mood of the players. I'm a little bias towards protoss Feel free to upset my predictions ! aLt|
VS
|xGking|
Week 1 Match 1
Game1:|YoonYJ|
VS
| xGKingBielsko| on MLG Taldarim Altar
These two players are no strangers to everyone in sc2sea. YoonYJ have won 3? COs(MAY BE WRONG) while Bielsko is an up and coming funky toss (3-2 Azz, 2-3 Revenant, 2-3 Roz in showmatches).... [Read More]
It began a normal day today, I was destined to play even more Zerg and suffer at the hands of my arch nemesis the Brotoss.
I was screwing around with my friend that goes to school with me. I had this sudden idea, could it be possible I wasn't sure for certain, so we decided to play some 2v2's to find out.
We started our first game, luck seemed to be on our side but it was not meant to be
Even though the first game was a fail we had to keep trying, with motivation and determination and a... [Read More]
My housemate, TaXanT and myself wanted to catch up with some mates early in the new year, play some games, have a few drinks, etc. So the idea of a Lan at ours was born.
XanT and I are big sc2 fans, however some of our mates aren't, or the level between us all is pretty vast. It wouldn't be a Lan without some SC2, so a swiss... [Read More]
If you don't know, i drive an utralisk, and i just completed putting +1 attack on it. Next comes +1 Armor (have to wait and see what that is)
Yes i do go offroading
Yes the number plate does say zergg,
Yes that does say ISC
Yes i do play protoss
I played Zerg in BW and got the plates when i was still playing BW
Yes i will squish marines.
So I've been playing random for just over a week now.
Amusing amounts of fail.
Things to note
Ladder anxiety - gone.
Insight into how other races work - incredibly handy.
4Gate - hilariously effective.
After some coaching with PiG and Eldrid - both of whom I thoroughly recommend - I've decided I need to cut down on the amount of things I'm trying to do in game, and get back to basics.
Game Modes
To achieve this, I've decided to set my brain into three 'game modes' that... [Read More]
Thought I might make a blog about this year and my up coming move to Brisbane to attend TAFE and then Uni.
Was just wondering acouple things about uni/tafe. Is the work load increase like a normal jump in year levels in HS? Not really much of a jump there so I'm guessing no. Are there the normal amount of **** heads like there are in HS? Since people are there because they want to study and be there I'm gonna guess no, but dicks can be smart too.
Day[9] has made an excellent 'daily' covering Thorzain's TvT fast expand opening. Basically it's an extremely efficient fast expand build that seems not only safe as houses, but extremely flexible.
While Day[9] has an amazing show, I sometimes find his stuff less than helpful. He covers theories, strategies and builds that play very well at the top level, but perhaps aren't super well suited to the lean, mean world of Battle.net or in the hands of someone who lacks godly micro and flawless... With TCL entering the last few weeks of group play, its time for a quick update for those of you curious about how the tournament is going for our SEA teams.
Ladies and Gentlemen, Welcome to the 1st Annual inFeZa's Starcraft Awards!
We look back at 2011 and see what a year it was for Starcraft and eSports in general, and how else to celebrate them than to congratulate players and teams for their wondrous feats of strength in Starcraft 2.
