A few very near losses in the morning, into some great wins during the day.
I was actually fortunate enough to have coaching today from the famous SQLttYang.
It was awesome.
Some great PVP insight. certainly learned from it and am planning on doing it again some time soon.

As a few of you may already know this Friday is my last day at work. Unlike most of the top gamers in SEA I am one of the few who works full-time, most of my spare time is currently spent going to gym/going out with friends thus leaving me with hardly any time for practice and all of the tournaments I go into with zero practice.

So the ACL Gold Coast event is now over, and we have had some time to calm down, let me just lay out some of my

Atmosphere
The atmosphere was pretty spectacular, granted it was my first major LAN event of anything and I was really impressed, and actually quite

Today started off relatively good.

I started with a surprisingly easy win.
good way to start off what was to be a 3 game loss.
This got me mad? im not sure if mad was the right work but it was soemthing lilke that as it was just small mistakes that all started to add up . I watched the replays and noticed i was getting supply blocked every possible chance.
This was a pretty bad feeling from these loses .

Recently i have noticed a lot of talk about ladder Anxiety throughout multiple forum sites.
I had never really considered this to be a real thing until i started reading some of these posts.
To be honest, I suffer from this pretty bad.
every time i ladder i feel like I have to win otherwise i am getting worse at the game.

Aight, I made a blog post a while back about getting Random to the top of SEA. At the rate I'm going, it might happen, but it's gonna take a ******* long time. Unless I achieve some sort of mental breakthrough - which is just waiting for chance - I don't think I'm going to be able to achieve it just by massing ladder games. I just personally find protoss to be the sickest race to play and to watch. Of course, this is very biased since I have pretty much no experience playing terran, and less than a hundred games as zerg. But still. The other races just don't excite me as much

I hate protoss.

I just made the mistake of trying to play standard against a Protoss and forgot that they can win on one base.


What's stronger than a 2 base 6 gate timing/ 7gate all in ? A 1 base immortal all-in. (ok maybe not, but I've had more practice with the former than the latter)

I just made the mistake of trying to macro against a protoss on TDA.

I crushed his first big push destroying all the collossi w00t! 180 supply (80 drones 4 base, 5th building) versus 110 supply protoss (on 3 base!), what's this? he has psi storm and is warping in blinkstalkers off 15 gates? Goodbye to my counterattack in a matter of seconds. It's ok, im on 5 base and im trading armies. It should be fine, he's contained to 3 base.

So I've been playing random for just over a week now.

Amusing amounts of fail.

Things to note
Ladder anxiety - gone.
Insight into how other races work - incredibly handy.
4Gate - hilariously effective.

Thought I might make a blog about this year and my up coming move to Brisbane to attend TAFE and then Uni.

Was just wondering acouple things about uni/tafe. Is the work load increase like a normal jump in year levels in HS? Not really much of a jump there so I'm guessing no. Day[9] has made an excellent 'daily' covering Thorzain's TvT fast expand opening. Basically it's an extremely efficient fast expand build that seems not only safe as houses, but extremely flexible.

While Day[9] has an amazing show, I sometimes find his stuff less than helpful. Missed a couple of months of SC2 because of exams/holiday work/skyrim, so on coming back I've decided to switch from Zerg to Random.

Pro's

• Being able to enjoy the episodes of Day9 that don't talk about Zerg
• Immune to people complaining about the race I play
• I feel like I'm missing out on 2/3rds of SC2. Can't have that.

Con's

• Have to pay attention to all the episodes of Day9 that don't talk about Zerg
• I can no longer complain about the other races
• I have to learn about the other 2/3rds of SC2
