TLDR: This is a 2500 word wall of text written off the top of my head, and is basically just to get stuff off of my chest and give part of my opinion on the recent Avant drama.
This is basically all lead-up to the event itself, so starting from roughly March to the day before AVCon. I'll post the rest about the actual event and after the event in the next day or two.
Sorry it's so late, I just totally forgot and was lazy. Basically I felt a bit 'eh' about the entire weekend as far as my... [Read More]
Tonight we are extremely sad to announce that Lachlan 'PhoenixA' Leslie is leaving Phoenix e-sports. After his recent play qualifying him for ACL Melbourne pro bracket and competing quite well at the event he has decided to pursue other options within competitive Starcraft. We wish PhoenixA the best in what ever he does decide to do.
Only thing is not as serious. looking at playing random and having some fun with it. Would like to do some casting if anyone needs a co caster or team games if anyone wants a random scrub on thier team
idk if blog worthy but will stream if people like watching troll random players, no idea what level ill be cos my terran and zerg are pretty horrid
I'm [mGG]MueX, an ex-master league random player. I've been looking to get into casting, because I love Starcraft and all its different strategies and want to get more involved in the community. I've been doing some streaming of my casting, mainly just 1v1 custom games between people from the metaGameGods and noobschool channels. The biggest struggle I've had with casting, though, is how to speak clearly and continuously. Watching over my recordings I see I have a tendency to say a lot of "um"s... [Read More]
Bit of a disclaimer, I apologise in advance for any grammatical or structural errors - I basically just free wrote this after today at uni so it was a bit of a memory dump . Hope you guys enjoy!
Well well well… Where to begin… I think I will start from the very beginning of my Australian journey.
In retrospect, even the days leading up to my flight I still wasn’t really coming to grip with... [Read More]
After talking to multiple teams since the disbanding of xeria, I've decided that my best option is to go teamless for a while. This is due to multiple reasons which I don't wish to go into detail about in this blog post. I'd simply like to say that I'm no longer searching for a team to join, and I doubt I will be for at least the rest of this year.
I'm going to instead focus purely on improving my skill level. This means getting my ranking a lot higher on ladder, and mass gaming in my spare... [Read More]
The theatre scene in Singapore is experiencing quite the attention these days. One of my favourite Singapore actors Adrian Pang, recently set up his very own theatre company 'Pangdemonium!' with his wife Tracie to inject a bit of fun and his own style into the theatre scene.
For those in Singapore interested in theatre - (lol at pple going crazy at $150 boring phantom of the opera tickets), Pangdemonium! are running their version of the Pulitzer Prize winning musical called 'Next To Normal'... [Read More]

An Introduction to Esports Betting – How To Bet for Profit
As most of you probably have noticed, there is now possible to bet on the outcomes of esport gaming events. Yes, that is right, you can place a wager on who you think will win in the next OSL finals or even the HomeStory Cup. For many this adds a lot of excitement having money riding on a match.
However, this also opens up a lot of opportunities for those that are a little more savvy when it comes to... [Read More]
Hey guys, haven't made one of these for a while, so figured now is as good of a time as any to express my thoughts leading up to and including this last weekend at ACL, and also have a few ramblings that have been on my mind recently.
So, without further ado!
After qualifying for Avcon I was pretty pumped to practice my balls off to try and do well. This was another 16 player qualifying tournament that I managed to qualifer for of off nearly no practice, so that felt pretty good, and I... [Read More]
EDIT: holy **** this is enormous. I'm gonna cut it up into sections.
It seems that writing about ACL melbourne is what all the cool people do so I figure I'd join in but my natural desire is to show off so I have decided to talk about not one, not two, but FOUR tournaments! I don't normally do this but it's been the best few months for me career-wise and that's more interesting then my usual story of "beat a few zergs but not enough, infestors overpowered, bleh".
Fak it, everyone else is writing one of these blogs, figure I may aswell write down some of the memorable parts of my ACL experience also.
So I'll start by saying that Drive through liquor shops is so sick, I wish they had them in NZ. Now that the important stuff is out of the way I'll dive into ma gaimz.
Going into ACL we the avant boys had mixed opinions on how well we would do, RuineD and myself are rather unpractised as we have other commitments to attend to in our lives, so we... [Read More]
Okay so firstly this blog is totally 100% a ripoff of fenner's because I found it a really really cool read! Secondly, I've just had a 12 hour day at uni so please go easy if this is a total ramble or just really poorly written!
Pre-Melbourne
I wrote a blog a few months before ACL about how I was going to step up my practice hardcore in the lead up to this event because I wanted to do really well. Despite the fact I didn't achieve the specific goals that I wanted to, I was extremely pleased... [Read More]
Hello ladies and gentlemen. My name is Daniel Fenner and I am going to write some words about my tournament experience over this past weekend. I don't normally do this and I'm bad at writing, so we'll see how it goes.
ACL Melbourne
Pre-Melbourne
So in the last couple of months I have been extremely dissatisfied with my results. As someone who is practicing as much or more than most of the top players in our small scene, I feel like my skill level has not been representing the amount of... [Read More]
So another ACL means another blog from me. In this one I guess I'll talk a little bit about how ETL has been going. Maybe not, though. I haven't planned anything, just writing whatever comes to mind.
So, after having a ton of fun at ACL Brisbane (http://www.sc2sea.com/blogs/showentry.php?e=1150) I decided I was going to go to ACL Melbourne no matter what. The online qualifiers went pretty ******* terribly for me, which was pretty disappointing. The rest of us didn't do very well either, except... [Read More]
EDIT: Added photos. EDIT2: Here's the VOD of the epic CTF Slums match (1 hour 39 minute mark)
Haven't submitted a blog here for a long time. I don't really have anything interesting to share. But I do want to write about a few things since there are people who missed out.
Firstly, ACL had a record turn-out. Off the top of my head, Call of Duty saw over 21 teams competing, and SC2 had 60 or so in the Open Bracket alone (Not to mention the addition of LoL which took the main stage). This... [Read More]
I just want to say i like blogging.

So I've decided to a buy a new computer and build it myself so I'll be able to stream properly. My upload is pretty shit, so I need a pretty good computer to be able to stream decently.
I wanted to wait until after ACL, so I could give it my all practice wise and see where I end up, and I think I did pretty well. Computer just showed up today, so I'll have to build it, and I'll probably be streaming by Wednesday. if you want to watch a Protoss player try to improve, while... [Read More]
I didn't really wanna sit here and think how best to start writing this thing. I'm not a writer, I'm a dude who sees something that is broken and hits it with a hammer until it's fixed. So on that note I am stepping down from the majority of mGG leadership responsibilities. Asra and myself will still be around in much the same capacity as Thoth and Muex, to advise when requested and to run things when needed. But for the most part I'll just be another bloke around the place with no special... [Read More]
Just wanted to take the time to post these photos on behalf of Firefly, the awesome photographer you may have seen walking around Saturday morning-afternoon. Firefly's basically been at every Melbourne event for the last year taking photos and we all love him for it.
ladies and Gentlemen most of the community know me as either one of the two admins of the BSG weekly or the team manager of DGTV and some even knew me when i was playing in the BSG Open on a Weekly basis.
After much thought i realized i wasn't enjoying admining of the BSG and that i truly do want to become a better player if not improve just play the game competitively.
Whilst admining over the BSG i have been apart of a In House tournament for my team and
Just wanted to write a quick brag blog! Some people may remember the first blog in a series from about 18 months ago titled "Path to Korean GM" (http://www.teamliquid.net/blogs/viewblog.php?id=309898) which was all about me taking my training, including exercise and balanced lifestyle, a lot more seriously.
In the time in-between I've been right at the top of masters almost permanently, and practically built a mental block for each time GM came out I'd go on horrible losing... [Read More]
Near the beginning of July, I happened to basically get my index finger crushed in a stupid accident, leading to me being unable to really play any starcraft. Fortunately, I was still able to watch most of the tournaments that happened in the past few weeks, and what better way to make the viewing experience more exciting than by adding in a little stake to go with it! After skimming through the article on betting on this site, I decided to put in 50 euros (which after conversion came out to... [Read More]
Okay so in recent times, it's seeming to me I have way too many bad habits while playing Starcraft 2. So as of right now, I aim to improve myself as a player.
How I aim to do this, regular coaching, going over replays, learning simple builds that improve macro to improve my consistency. I will also be streaming anytime I play so viewers can also offer constructive criticism.
I will be making essentially a video diary including some game footage on what I have improved on for that particular... [Read More]
