So, I went to GOM last night to watch the up-and-downs.
First I figured out how to get to mok dong, showered, shaved etc. And then headed out on what I was told would be an hour-and-a-half journey by taxi-subway-subway-walk.
I'm totally aclimated now so I just get in the taxi and say "bucheon Yeok" like a boss, dat right, they understand me and all. I totally speak korean.
And then my second time on the subway alone! I knew which platforms to go to but couldn't tell which train so i... [Read More]
"The gameplay in SC2 is boring and repetitive, it's just the same thing over and over again"
The guy with the sunglasses is how I imagine people that complain about this...
This is a phrase I've heard quite a bit recently. You know, the truth of the matter is, everyone sucks at SC2 and barely grasps how the game works. For the last 2 years everyone has described concepts in the game using relationships and examples from Broodwar or occassionally Warcraft 3. But... [Read More]
Hey guys just letting you know Sunset (melbourne eSports lass + baller) has been writing some awesome articles on eSports. I like them. You should read them.
Hey guys realised I wrote an EPIC email to Dot the other day so thought I'd share most of it with you guys as it was just telling about some of the time at IeSF in Cheonan, Korea. This aint as purty as my normal blogs, just basic recounts. If you want to read something well-polished this isn't for you!
I wrote this a while ago but haven't had anyone to proof-read it and as I'm embarking to Korea tomorrow I figured I'd better post it before I forget. This blog is about my experience immediately after WCS Australia/Oceania heading to IEM Cologne on August 15-20th. This part is mostly just a rundown of my feelings after WCS as well as my emotions and experiences flying to Cologne.
The trip to the airport
Ok so it's monday the 13th of August, 2012. I'm riding the train to the... [Read More]
Many of you know I stopped the majority of my coaching and streaming over the last 2 months leading up to ACL Melbourne and WCS Aus/Oceania. This really paid off with me winning ACL and WCS Australia. Even though I didn't perform so well in WCS Oceania and IEM Cologne the effect of 100% focus and discipline in my training was evident. That being said I'm not willing to leave coaching behind.
Coaching been a large part of getting to where I am today. It has helped me broaden my... [Read More]
We arrived at the ACL venue right on 9am this morning. This time we went healthy, we were eating Mcdonalds bacon and egg muffins. Lol by this time our bodies were starting to suffer from the perpetual junk but we pressed on!

I managed to win all my games in groups from this stage. Highlights included iaguz building his first... [Read More]
Hi guys I'd like to Introduce my new blog series where I take an awesome experience in eSports and write some of my feelings about it and share part of that experience with the SCII community. I normally wouldn't have time to write this but with the wonderful support I've been receiving from my sponsors (Tt eSports, Gigabyte Notebooks, Mwave.com.au and AVerMedia) I've decided to use these experiences as a way to say thanks to them. As these blogs will be "brought to you by (insert sponsor... [Read More]
I had no idea he was writing such awesome articles (especially the interview with me durrr) about sc2 and was thinking he should create a thread to update whenever he writes a new article so that the sc2sea regulars get to see it! It'll get a few more clicks for games.on.net too!
Get on it boy! Just a suggestion ofc if you're too busy np!... [Read More]
So today I finally got around to installing my brand spankin' new AverMedia Game Broadcaster HD Capture card! W00t!
But first, some backstory...
Ok so basically for anyone who isn't aware I am one of the biggest retards when it comes to technology. It might sound odd coming from a progamer but basically my parents were quite strict in terms of using the computer growing up. When I was allowed to play games as a teenager it was always next to the... [Read More]
But before I tell the tale of now I have to tell you how I got here.
Part I - Childhood and adolescence
One step at a time, one foot in front of the other. My head hung limply down as I watched my feet walking forwards across the black. As I watched the hypnotic motion of my feet across the ground the darkness slowly began to recede and shapes and colours began to form beneath my toes. Blurry lines turned to sharp edges and took all... [Read More]
Hi guys so I just read a blog on TL where this guy basically had a giant QQ about how he's in plat but will go on streaks beating masters regularly, and then down to losing to silvers and golds regularly. He has no idea why etc etc: http://www.teamliquid.net/blogs/view...ic_id=331845#4
I started replying and realised that the advice I gave could be helpful to anyone so I'd post it as a blog here too.
With erratic play from players where their play can be 3-4 leagues higher one day then... [Read More]
Remove 3 pylon block on all ladder maps. Do it now you fuckheads.
Oh yay they incorporated daybreak! Blizzard are REALLY listening!
Oh wait... u changed the front 4th to be a full-base... **** you.
You also don't have a neutral depot? **** you.
Seriously, that's all I have to say. 7/9 games vs toss on ladder I've been pylon blocked. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't. 100% of the time it resulted in a shit game.
I understand gimicky strats being in the game but this is... [Read More]
I'm in a reminiscing mood, prepare for a WALL OF TEXT
I first started writing this in reply to the "your gaming history" thread, but decided it deserved it's own blog.
Basically I'm going to go through most of the games I remember playing and the good impressions they left me with!
-Command and Conquer original
- Warcraft 2 then Warcraft 1
-Red alert 1
-Playstation: FF7, FF8, Gran Turismo 2 and Tekken 3 were the 4 main games I owned. Played a few other adventure/rpg PS games but... [Read More]
A little bit of background for anyone that doesn't know me. My name is Jared Krensel and I'm a full-time SC2 progamer (zerg) from Sydney, Australia playing for Tt eSPORTS.
Back to the old conundrum, didn't train very hard today so was meant to play atleast 15 games tonight only to find myself getting ~500ping to SEA.

Woke up at 11.30 today half an hour later then yesterday nooo! Immediately signed up for playhem and grabbed cereal. Hit a few easy games for 3 rounds before hitting anyung.prime in zvz on cloud kingdom. God I despise this map. the colours are ugh and I dont practice on it. It's joining the ladder pool though so i guess I have to start playing it . I got pwnt by a +2 roach hydra timing despite having infestors out because I was simply behind. I took a... [Read More]

Day 3:
Summary:
Shorter recount today. Woke up at 11am. Played a ladder game to warm up for playhem. Played two relatively easy rounds before meeting GosuWBC (details below). I jumped straight into Korean ladder sore from my loss and had to deal with retarded delay, dropping games to a bunch of noobs and then falling to desrow's hyper-aggressive play. Even the stream started lagging so I turned it... [Read More]
Summary:
I woke up an hour earlier today (11am ZOMG!) which started off the day much better with some cornflakes and began to practice. Had some coaching and then back into the practice whilst streaming. Just as I started losing focus and just play badly I decided "Ok 1 more game before I get ready for dinner" I hit que, it instantly finds a game and then up on my screen BAM: Anything vs oGsMC. (See more below for my recount of this matchup!) After this debacle I go to dinner at... [Read More]
Ok so I got off to a slow start on the first day of my new goals, not waking up until midday . I hopped straight into coaching while eating breakfast and then had my next hour of coaching cancel. So w00t extra time to practice! I actually somehow only managed to play 15 ladder games though in the period from when i finished coaching shortly after 1pm until 6pm. I'll explain more on that later.
My brother had seen my blog and decided to help me meet my exercise goals... [Read More]
A few weeks ago I made a goal to get GM on Korea by next season.
A few days ago I realised just how close the end of the season is and how little time I have to get my play to be consistently at such a high level.
Lately everyone's posting blogs about getting fit and improving their play and whatnot and its motivating just reading them. So why not write one of my own?
So here's my history with the korean server:
Basically I started investing any noteworthy amount of time into the... [Read More]
I just made the mistake of trying to macro against a protoss on TDA.
I crushed his first big push destroying all the collossi w00t! 180 supply (80 drones 4 base, 5th building) versus 110 supply protoss (on 3 base!), what's this? he has psi storm and is warping in blinkstalkers off 15 gates? Goodbye to my counterattack in a matter of seconds. It's ok, im on 5 base and im trading armies. It should be fine, he's contained to 3 base.
