One of my best mates was looking for some help filling in a survey takes like 2 minutes
Hey guys!
I am doing my Master's at University of Canterbury and am doing a report on the social technical impacts of gaming.
If you could fill out this super short survey for me that would be so awesome! It should only take 40-60 SECONDS!
It doesn't matter what games you play, or if you even game at all!
All results are anonymous
Thanks so much for your time!

When I was still new to sc2sea, it was initially chase.. But after being sorta out of touch with chase, I found a new senpai. He was named Ben aka pokeman. But once Ben went into uni, he's been really busy and i haven't been satisfied for the longest time. So I went on a search for a new senpai. Weeks later, I changed senpai to SouL since he was so supportive and all that shit. But then I suddenly got somewhat closer to Wally in a way that made me get more... [Read More]
Recently several players have approached me asking about issues with them raging at the game, playing worse than usual, going on tilt for long periods and in general having trouble progressing and finding where to improve. I myself had a horrible ladder session yesterday on stream where I went through some of these same symptoms. I thought I'd grab a few of my responses to my students and throw them together into a mini article. Hopefully this will help some of you with your progression as a... [Read More]
I got a bit bored tonight so I thought I would give all those interested a bit of a read into my history and how I became the person you know today.
The Interest Begins
It all started one night when I was playing Diablo 3 with a bunch of guys I had met on a stream (And gotten to know really, really well over the course of the year) and someone had brought up RTS' in general, so began a discussion about their history playing many RTS games such as... [Read More]
This game has affected us all in some way. For me, it has forever changed my perspective of gaming and the people who play them. I am currently living in Europe in a team house. I am surrounded by people who view this as their job. Had someone told me I'd end up here I would have laughed and directed them to a mental institute.
Four years ago, I met a dude with big glasses who liked to play computer games. Its amazing how the current of life sweeps you to unexpected places and... [Read More]
It has been a while since I posted on this site, besides the tourney sign-ups.
I'm here to do a shameless plug of some of the videos I've been putting up on my YouTube channel / GOM eXP's. (Admins / Mods, if this is against the rule, do remove this whole blog)
So I'm known as "definitelymiwa" now, and I post circle-jerky videos on reddit (and used to post proleague highlights until I got stopped)

So with the newest patch just on the way, Hearthstone's Arena mode raised its Arena win cap from 9 to 12.
Curious to see what the new prizes may be, I tried my luck out in Arena, and got a pretty good deck, full of draws and abusable mechanics.
and...
I was quite surprised as my usual win rate is only about 60+% (4-5 wins) for arena (I track my win/loss in a spreadsheet). So I went on a run, and when I hit 10 wins I knew I had a chance for the magic 12.
I've been getting a few requests to commentate my arena runs, so here's a little something to make up for the lack it. Thought it would be a nice change of rhythm from the weekly overview segments.
Here's the full drafting thought process of my 9-2 Druid run-
Murloc decks are the early cheese, the all-in of Hearthstone. Like Starcraft, it's a b*tch to play against, but fun to execute. There's all kinds of murloc decks out there today, but personally I feel Warlock is the most efficient fit. With a murloc aggro deck, the mentality is to draw and play as many cards as possible to end the game as quickly as possible.
There's been a influx of Hearthstone players lately, and perhaps many never experienced the era where rogue truly ruled town. Pre-patch rogues could add weapon damage with their hero power, shiv costs 1, headcrack was 2 mana, backstab had no limitations whatsoever. Oh, and the Defias brothers were 2/3 + 2/1 champions.
After the patch, it felt like rogues were nerfed to the ground. They seemed to cease existence in both arena & constructed. I myself... [Read More]
The new patch has hit for about 3-4 days now, and Rogues have to give up control of their towns back to scrubs. The Rogue nerfs feel a tad overboard, from being number 1 hero to number 9 zero. I was eager to keep going headstrong with Rogue in ranked post-patch, but after experimenting a few games on unranked it felt impossible. My Rogue spellpower deck is now defunct.
Rogue nerf first impressions:
- Backstab - This was a decent change. It doesn't seem... [Read More]
I’ve been playing a lot of Shaman lately, and have been enjoying the slow yet stern defensive pace. A lot of people seem to quickly nudge off Shaman to be a RNG hero since many of its spells & hero power rely on it. It’s true that the difference of a favorable RNG compared to a unfavorable one could mean winning or losing the match, but I feel that if you build your deck towards a defined goal the RNG leans more towards a bonus rather than a necessity.
Now that I’ve hit Master 3 star ranked along with Grandmaster in arena, I feel a little more comfortable sharing my opinions and offering tips. Today will be a simple one, just throwing some general thoughts out there. This is by no means ‘correct’, it’s simply my experience so far with the game.
Rogue. Key cards: Backstab, shiv, spell and weapon synergy cards. Rogues are the easiest class to 9-x with, they have tons of options to keep the board clear of enemy creatures and tons of wonderful synergies and bullshit. Coin + defias, dagger mastery + deadly poison, spell power + all the removal. For this reason they're also really common since a lot of people seem to know how imba this class is.
Playing waaaaay to much as those who watch my stream can attest to. Anyway, im also trying to gain a bigger following and so forth, currently I average between 10-20 viewers when I stream, the aim is 100+
and that's where you can help! Iv been making videos and posting them on reddit (getting some decent feedback as well), but the more upvotes I can get them the more attention it will bring overall. Would love if you guys could help me out
