I was gonna write a big ass blog about how sick this game is, but instead I found a nice little snippet to help demonstrate it. Arkham Asylum was sweet. Arkham City was amazing. This is even better.
It's a prequel to the original two. This is pretty awesome on it's own because it means you get to explore Arkham City (the location) prior to Arkham City (the game). Before everything went to hell. And they cleverly expanded the size of the city by allowing the player to
EDIT: Added photos. EDIT2: Here's the VOD of the epic CTF Slums match (1 hour 39 minute mark)
Haven't submitted a blog here for a long time. I don't really have anything interesting to share. But I do want to write about a few things since there are people who missed out.
Firstly, ACL had a record turn-out. Off the top of my head, Call of Duty saw over 21 teams competing, and SC2 had 60 or so in the Open Bracket alone (Not to mention the addition of LoL which took the main stage). This... [Read More]
So yesterday I played like a 1 hour+ vs on NA ladder, which resulted in a RIDICULOUS comeback. Early in the game, I decided to make 1 Immortal whilst waiting for my Robotics Bay to complete.
Over an hour later, that ONE Immortal is STILL alive. He went on to quite literally survive the duration of the entire game.
Here I am, taking out my rubbish and putting my groceries away, and a random thought strikes me. I drop my groceries and run to my room immediately just so I could create this blog.
Andrew Eddie Edwards - otherwise known as FaDeEdOne.
Why is he my favourite? He does so much for the scene. He contributes his own hard earned money. He takes the time to help out with ALL tournaments every chance he gets. He runs his own monthly event which is by far one of the most successful, most watched,... [Read More]
I wrote this a month ago and never got around to actually submitting it because my mood shifted and after re-reading it I thought it was actually pretty shit. But hey whatever. Educate yourselves!
I don't often write blogs without substance. Is that even the right way to phrase it? Probably not. I guess I define "substance" as something the reader actually needs, or wants. Not something they'll read for the sake of reading. But by formal definition, that would invalidate most literature.... [Read More]
So there was a lot of recent discussion about how Bo3 is usually underwhelming for the spectators since the Upper Bracket champion tends to just stomp the Lower Bracket champion 2-0 and it's all over.
I just wanted to highlight 3 events in less than a month where it's been quite the opposite:
ASUS / Gamespot AU Pro-Am
tgun lost 0-2 to TargA in the Upper Bracket Finals. He then proceeded to defeat mOOnGLaDe 2-1 in the Lower Bracket finals, and then took a 2-0 and 2-1 against TargA in the... [Read More]
So as some of you may know, I was retrenched at my old job (of 5 years) after being relocated to our Melbourne office for 1 year. I used a proprietary SQL-based API to write software for an engineering firm, allowing our geochemists, environmental scientists and engineers to conduct their fieldwork digitally, instead of ye olde archaic methods of pen & paper. So after losing my job, I decided to move up the ladder and apply for a position directly with the company that created the API. So now... [Read More]
Lately there have been a LOT of events overlapping and it's doing more damage to the scene than most people realise. For the past 12 months or so, I've been keeping a Google docs spreadsheet listing all of the events happening in (or relevant to) Australia and SEA. I've been sharing this document with a select number of people (ACL Staff, Blizzard staff, a few players) in order to keep them informed about upcoming events, however due to the sensitive/confidential nature of some events, I... I'm collecting feedback and questions from a range of threads and sources in an attempt to deliver a concise response to the community on behalf of ACL. Additionally, we're looking for some feedback/testimonials from various angles of the event - including stream quality, commentary, venue, PC's, internet connection and schedule. Feel free to post that stuff here.
Back during the Wings of Liberty Beta, I advertised that I was looking for staff to help maintain a site I was putting together - http://www.SEA-Play.com, which was going to be a replay website focused around players in the SEA Community. The mission was simple: a user-driven replay hub of which staff/moderators could highlight the best games and showcase tournaments. Unfortunately, I only got a few nibbles from the community - most of which were inexperienced kids looking for opportunities to... [Read More]
So somehow I didn't stumble upon this until now, but it seems that WarCraft 4 (RTS) may have been accidentally leaked at Blizzcon last weekend.
Essentially what happened is this:
On day 1 of the Blizzcon stream during an interview regarding Mists of Pandaria, Chris Metzen made a comment saying that "the Horde and the Alliance haven't been at eachothers throats like this since WarCraft 2." Kat Hunter replied with, "Or at least until WarCraft 4!" This seemed to provoke a shaken response... [Read More]
I was feeling a little nostalgic and came across this article from 5 years ago. It's WCG 2006 - incidentally - at the Gold Coast Convention Center where the WCG 2011 finals will be held in just over 2 weeks from now. You'll notice a lot of familiar names and a lot of unfamiliar hair styles. Is that aLt.Ninja? Nope, that's Dox with a baby face and long hair.
I've been keeping myself very busy by getting involved with a wide range of organisations and sponsors lately, and as a result - I'll be behind a large number of events over the next 3 months. I haven't finalised all of the details yet, which is why you probably haven't heard about most of these events, but here's a sneak peak at what I've got planned. I'll be posting threads and articles about these events in the very near future, so keep an eye out!
One of the fellows over at WCR (Rave) wrote a really nice, detailed blog on the most epic SC2 Matches thus far. I pretty much agree with almost all of his choices, and with the GSL's Birthday coming up in a few days, I thought people might like to catch up on some of the most amazing games they never got around to seeing.
I was going to include this in the WCG Melbourne thread, but I think it'll be easier to find here. For those of you attending WCG Melbourne this weekend, here's all the details you need to get there.

I've noticed a huge influx of forum posts, tweets and chat conversations recently about peoples' placements, and it has occurred to me that people don't quite understand how league promotion works. Now of course, you could go and look up Excalibur's four billion page article on Team Liquid. But I'm gonna try to explain it concisely.
So. Last season you were Gold league. You really powered hard over the last two weeks and felt like you've made some significant improvements. Your win ratio... [Read More]
Well, it's 9:30AM and I've just arrived back home in Melbourne. So let's rewind 30 hours!
So. It's Saturday morning. I couldn't get to sleep until like 11:30PM. With just over 4 hours sleep, I find myself waking up at 3:45AM and walking straight to the fridge to plow through my first Red Bull for the day whilst getting ready to take a taxi to the Melbourne Airport. For some crazy reason my girlfriend insisted on getting out of bed to drive me to the airport. I was fine with getting a cab,... [Read More]
