The sc2sea GPD is a 8 player, double elimination tournament.

Note on wildcards :
Any spots available will be open to wildcards.
Wildcards will be revealed after Wednesday till we have the full 8 player lineup.
Regular participants, players who have done well consistently despite not making it to the Semi-finals etc or by other reason as determined by the admins, may be considered to be invited as wildcards.
All spots must be taken.

For Variety and to add some element of Surprise, the prize pool will be different for each GPD Cup.

3rd : $10
Random participant from 4th - 8th picked : $5

Format :
All games in the upper brackets BO3.
Lower bracket games are BO1 until semi finals for lower brackets.
Finalists have the option to play 1 set of bo3 or the complete 2 sets of bo3.
(To be agreed before start of finals)
Maps may not be repeated in the same series.

Wildcard #1 : Fiend

I'm not sure if deserve is the right word to use in me getting the wildcard spot, I have been putting effort into my sc2 and gameplay I'm yet to see results in tournament format though. Getting a wildcard spot would be a wonderful experience both as a player trying to make it in Australia's sc2 scene and just a person in general. I'm not promising that giving me the wildcard spot would make me win the GPD cup because there are a lot of talented players that have already qualified, but with a bit of hard work and some luck I could go deeper than I would in a tournament like SEAweekly which would motivate me to improve tenfold.

Thanks for the opportunity to participate in the GPD Cup! Haven't been playing too much but I will try to represent the glorious and completely balanced Zerg race with dignity with just, honourable and 100% standard macro games (monkey) Hopefully I can win a game and maybe even cause an upset or two. And uhhhh... Thank you to all my fans for the support and I will try to show good games.

Fiend: I wanna get better and win tournaments and stuff yes but I wanna put as much into growing the community in sea as it puts into growing me, which your generosity to giving me the wildcard and letting me spec matches and giving me tips is amazing and and this can be one way i can contribute back so if thats ok id like to add the $5 to the winner prize pool

Since the earlier than anticipated release date of lotv is out, GPD opens will end for the rest of the year.

However in the pipeline, I hope we can still have the showmatch between this winner and the winner of the masters cup conducted recently (have to speak to the 2 players), a GPD LOTV Archon Mode (estimated before release) and a GPD LOTV 1v1 mode (end of the year probably in December). So dont worry GPD peeps, there will still be something ongoing for you guys
