Since we are getting so many different opinions on what day the tournament should be, its just best to consult the people who are going to be in the tournament. If you are not a BSG player and have an opinion on the day it should be hosted, please post a reply instead of voting in the poll.
We will probably go with the majority decision on this one, to maximize player count. But it also will depend on organisers/casters being available. If we cant organise it on one day, we'll just go for the second best voted day.
Also, I think Baka said we wont have a poll on this, but whether or not we actually plan to use this information, it'd still be useful to consult in the future.
Edit: One more thing, dont take into account when other tournaments are on, BSG players wont be competing in those anyway in most cases (Unless its the community open).
The day isn't really an issue i work shift work, more so the time to me. I would rather play at 8 than 9 even with a day off the next day. i think the change was more to suit singapore time or organisers better rather than us aussies who wanted it the hour earlier.

To be fair, an hour later means Eastern Australians have to stay up an hour later on a Friday night. An hour earlier means Singapore and Perth players can't play at all, due to not being home yet from uni/work.
There's never going to be a perfect situation for everyone.

Once daylight savings is over; there should be a perfect medium between the two timezones, as we'll revert back to GMT+10, as opposed to GMT+11 which we're currently in now
Although, if you guys want more practice and are in BSG leagues, we can organise practice sessions, and use skype as well. Maybe we can get some higher ranked players than BSG level in on it as well, to help out?
Of course, this is if that comment was serious. xD
Im going to have to talk with Baka and maybe Sky about the day we have this on based on the response, though.
I suggest Friday would be the smartest idea as lots of aussies can't make it on at thursday afternoon on a tournament which ends @ about 12 if they have work/committments the next day. If its on friday, the next day is a weekend (for majority) meaning the time wont really matter for aussies, and singaporeans will still be at home from work/school.
it was half n half i would love for bsg to be everyday but i know its not possible but practice sessions would be awesome. would be good if people went in the bsg channel more often rather then just on the tourney days
Why dont we just declare that the chat channel is "open" all week for BSG players to hang out and practise 1v1 discuss problems unique to our skill level and otherwise run amok!?
Im going to stay inchannel, join me guys lets make it our place =D

Friday: Organisers cannot attend due to commitments.
Saturday & Sunday: Available.
So the best bet at this moment is saturday. It wont clash with other sc2sea tournaments either. Post a reply with your opinion on if it should be saturday or not.
@Zergtastic: My personal opinion is to keep the BSG as is; on Thursday (after this weeks trial). It isn't exactly "inconvenient" for Australians as there has only been a few posters voicing there opinion in this thread.
I ran the BSG for several weeks and the most solid day & time I found was; Thursdays 5pm SGT/8pm AEST. Sure some players were inconvenienced and couldn't participate however I was still having over 100 players participating weekly.
@SkyBreaker: Once the daylight savings is returned back to normal it will be easy to find the most solid time/day for the tournament.
Even though it inconveniences a lot of Aussies a lot more probably still participate even though its an inconvience and end up as no-shows or whatever. This is just probably just going to be a temporary problem but still the point of the BSG is to help as many people as possible and i guess its worth it to change the day if it means no people are inconvienced and complaining.

I don't blame you for being you, but you can't blame me for hating it
If you look at the bsg thread and not here, you will find not many people are agreeing with the thursday time slot. Saturdays the way to go! woot woot. - changing to Saturday has no cons, just removes inconveniences which is good.
@sky You ran the tournaments during HOLIDAYS for the aus
