Another clan war completed, and another fantastic set of games. The night started on Metropolis with a short one, mGGTitan taking it with a +1 stim timing over FaDeCoOkie. Next, we travelled to Ohana, where Titan opens with an eco 2 rax aggression. After a calm and collected defence by Daedalus, things looked less than optimal for our terran buddy. However, after some nice drop play and some good MMM splits against the infestor/ling/bane, Titan managed to claw his way back and take the victory. Faceing a 2-0 defecit, FaDe send out their first of the night in Petrify, choosing to fight on Daybreak. Titan was unable to continue his colossal performance, bowing before the impeccable macro zerg after a 20 minute battle.

With it's first loss on the board, mGG decided to fight fire with fire and send out its own zerg, mGGSwitch on Antiga Shipyard. Things started well, with Switch performing a nice baneling defence against the early speedling aggression of Petrify. Unfortunetely for Switch, Petrify was following up the aggression with greediness back home, and managed to overrun him with superior roach infestor numbers.

Confronted with a leveling of the score to 2 games a piece, mGG sent out its original BossToss, mGGAlpha on Entombed Valley. What ensued can only be described as magic. Demonstrating that drones are not as consumate fighters as zerg would like, Alpha puts on some early 2 gate aggression at the 3rd while expanding to take a commanding economic lead, matching the zerg base for base - 5 bases a piece at 18 minutes. The next 10 minutes are spent in late game back and forth, with both sides losing and retaking bases. The outcome being decided by a recall of carrier void ray archon into the main of zerg.

Having stamped his mark on the war, FaDe sent out their aggressive terran, Dempsey. With a 2 rax marine marauder timing, Dempsey manages to deny the protoss expansion, not once but twice. Not to be outdone, Alpha elects for some DT/prism harass to bring him back into the game, buying enough time to defend the terran's follow up push and extend mGG's lead back out to 4-2.

At 4 games down, FaDe need to pull out something special. Enter VenosauR, the underage protoss of power. After taking a quick steal of both of Alpha's gasses, VenosauR follows up with a 4 gate. Sans gas, Alpha has little option but to gg and be proud of his double for the night.

With mGG's grandmasters out of the picture, the weight falls to their last zerg, Chase. Things looked to be going well for the zerg, getting 4 lings into the natural early and sniping the cannon and pylon of VenosauR. Unfortunetely, if you lings are in their expansion, they aren't back home, and Chase's 3rd is cannoned out by SC2's single most imbalanced unit, the probe. Despite solid play, Chase is unable to secure a useful 3rd, concediing to he stalkers of protoss.

Things are interesting to say the least at this stage. With the scores locked at 4-4, the night will finishing the same way it begain, with a TvP on Metropolis as mGG sent out its last hope - mGGFender. With both players opening up with some solid and standard play, the time comes for a MMM +1/combat shield/stim push. Unfortunetely, though perfectly timed, stim was accidently cancelled, and Fender need to find some way to make up for lost ground. Despite commandable drop play and dogged determination, Fender is unable to prevent protoss from taking half the map, eventually falling to superior weight of numbers. FaDe wins 5-4 against mGG.

GGWP to FaDe and mGG for an epic 9 game set. Thanks go to Jugular (Mattb) and Mirth (Ammon) for their casting services. The vods can be found at Twitch.tv/mattb21. An honourable mention to Ammon for making a fool of himself with on-air dancing during down time. A dishonourable mention goes to DemiseRedemption for encouraging such behaviour :P.
