Welcome to the 12th Gold, Platinum and Diamond Weekly Open!

The event shall be a 128 player competition. It will be a single elimination style tournament.

Details

Date: Sunday, 29th of May, 2011.
Time: 4pm SGT, 6pm AEST
Location: SEA Battle.net region.
Tournament Eligibility: You must be in the Gold, Platinum or Diamond league (1v1 - SEA license). If you were previously in Masters at the conclusion of season 1, you are ineligible.

Prizes: The winner of the GPD Open will take home the $10 first prize
The top 8 players from this event shall qualify for the Masters Cup on 5/6/11 and the chance to win the $75 1st prize, $20 2nd, and $10 3rd for that event. Wildcard qualifying spots may also be given for impressive play outside of the top 8.

Rules and Regulations

· All results must be PMed to CSRegicide in-game.
· Players who are 15 or more minutes late will be disqualified, their opponent will be given an automatic win.
· If any disconnects occur within the first two minutes of game-play, the match will be replayed. However if the disconnect occurs after two minutes of game-time, then it is up to the discretion of the referee to decide whether; A) the game is to be replayed, or B) player X/Y is to be awarded the win.
· Any disputes will be handled by the GPD admins after reviewing all associated replays.
· Any inappropriate behaviour will result in a disqualification.
· Players must have their own Sea account, playing on a friends is not allowed
. You are allowed to switch races
. No late replacements.

Map List

The first map of each round is pre-determined and outlined in the following list. The losing player will decide the subsequent map. The map pool is as follows:

Ro128: Slag Pits (B01 no 2nd game)
Ro64: Typhon Peaks (B01 no 2nd game)
Ro32: Tal'Darim Altar LE (B01 no 2nd game)
Ro16: The Shattered Temple (B01 no 2nd game)
Ro8: Metalopolis (B03)
Semi-Finals: Shakuras Plateau (B03)
Finals: Xel'Naga Caverns (B05)

Loser can pick from any the following maps:

Xel'Naga Caverns, Metalopolis, Shakuras Plateau, Typhon Peaks, The Shattered Temple, Tal'Darim Altar LE, Slag Pits

For B03 and B05 each player can have 1 veto

*Shall be using the Z33k brackets again. Submit results yourselves, any issues message CSRegicide.

Hey can the GPD be moved to saturdays? otherwise it clashes with the new go4sc2 cup.

I feel that go4sc2 cup is targeted at the higher tier sea players, and not the same niche as GPD, so don't see a problem with remaining in this timeslot.

It's targeted at higher tier, but that doesn't stop anyone from entering.

Just seems odd to have 2 weekly tournaments at the same day/time.

Why not make gpd an hour or 2 later?

What time does sign ups close?
I'm playing in go4sc2 and will probably be elimated early so with it being at 1700aest I may be able to play gpd at 1800aest.
