First set for should be ok by that date. Probably won't be able to do second set by then. Whats the absolute latest for second set?
It is said that if you know your enemies and know yourself, you will not be imperiled in a hundred battles; if you do not know your enemies but do know yourself, you will win one and lose one; if you do not know your enemies nor yourself, you will be imperiled in every single battle.

The dates serve as a guideline to keep the sets moving. From previous experience, it is frustrating when the sets not move and everyone tries to do it at the last minute. The first set is the most important set. The dates are there to guide and prevent procrastination.
However, all the sets must complete by 23 Dec.
As stated in the Skype chats, 19 Dec is the absolute latest for set 1 to be completed before walkovers (for set 1) begin. This is to prevent frustration from the others who cant even get started.
Also I heard there are mentions or people curious about the prize pool. We are still getting that sorted out but minimum it would be similar to that from GMC#1. If there are donors out there who wish to contribute to the prize pool to hype it up further, please feel free to pm me.
Spoiler alert :
For those who have gone to IEM SG and have heard (or seen the pix I shared in one Skype group), one prize (and we aren't talking about the 1st - 4th prize) would be a mousepad autographed by 3 special players (a Terran, a Zerg and a Protoss).

Also we were thinking.. instead of just posting the round of 8's brackets.. we are going do a guessing game over the next few days to announce who is facing off who in the round of 8. So watch for them and have some fun Pictionary style.

The way we shall be revealing the round of 8 bracket will be via this guessing game.
Everyday i will post 2 images which represent the players versing each other in the round of 8. Some of these will be hard, with only a few people getting them. However, if you think about the casted games in the round of 16 you should be able to get the tricky ones.
Congratulations to Fischball and Daedalus for correctly picking both of the players. Indeed the first player was CheesyKiwi. He is famous for his 10 pool banes and so i thought it would be an appropriate hint . The 2nd player was more difficult, but once you figured out that the Zerg player was proxy hatching the Protoss, and dropping Ultralisk, you do reach the conclusion that chase is our second player.
Mightykiwi does go into this series as the favourite, however Chase's unorthodox style may cause an upset. This could be a very close series!
Round of 8 will be Single Elimination Bo5s starting from 29 Dec (Sunday) to 12 Jan (Sunday).
First pair(s) to complete by 3 Jan (Friday) will have their games casted during the weekend of 4-5 Jan.
Starting map will be announced when all pairs have been announced by Sunday.
So stay tuned, and follow the mystery picture game to find out who vs who in the Round of 8. ^_^

Congratulations to no one! Player 3 was Daedalus. Just like any zerg player, he understands how broken mutalisk are, so he builds them often. The other image in that picture was the FaDe logo, representing his origins. Player 4 was Probe. I can't believe no one could see the dt's hiding in the corner kappa. The hint was detection, with the workers hiding behind their respective turrets.
Probe goes into this match as the favourite, however with the way zerg works, it wouldn't be suprising if Daedalus could squeeze out a win.
Player 5 was DeeCN. The use of a doom drop to dismantle Kreamy in the Round of 16 and a funny story during the time he played protoss at a LAN makes his picture. Player 6 was Schnitzel, who loves Void Rays in PvZ and Colo in PvP. Player 7 was Wally, 'Nuff Said. Our last player in the Round of 8 is our resident mech user, Kreamy.
DeeCN vs Schnitzel should be an interesting matchup. Before DeeCN advanced in first place beating Kreamy, you would say that this comfortably goes to Schnitzel. However with Schnitzel's dislike for Terrans and that performance, this set could be a close one and one to watch!
Wally vs Kreamy is our last matchup in the Round of 8, and provides what could be the closest set of games.
I hope you have enjoyed guessing games
The winner of this game will be drawn and announced on the finals day.

As usual the scheduled cast of the GMC Round of 8 clashes with a few other events, thus finding a caster is hard. So the cast won't be happening tonight or this weekend. I don't think there are any events on Monday, but as i write this someone is probably planning to run something :P.
So the cast will be on Monday at this stage with the grand finals occuring on Sunday the 19th.

At this point, I would like to especially mention a player who impressed me much throughout the tournament with his dedication and good will. It had been fun to have him around.
In round of 44, he was the first to finish all his games way ahead of most players. He much inspired the groups he was in during his round of 44 and later round 16 and 8 to always complete way ahead of everyone else. I haven't seen him bm or badmouth anyone but was always cheerful and positive.
Even towards the end (finals), he remained an enthusiastic participant and m surprised and I was much touched, at other noble acts shown to his fellow participants.
So awarding this special #dedication award to...
Schnitzel
