To kick off our 2013 Season for IeSF, we will be holding our first event on Sunday the 24th of March. Details are as follows:

Date: March 24th at 6pm AEDT (Sydney Time)
Format: Single Elimination, Bo1 until RO32, then Bo3
Prizes: $210 split the following way:
1st: $120
2nd: $60
3rd: $20
Random participant: $10

Points: For the IeSF Australia this year, you will qualify based on points from our online league. The points awarded are as follows:
1st: 9 Points
2nd: 5 Points
3rd/4th: 3 Points
5th-8th: 2 Points
Participation: 1 Point
Failure to Show: -2 Points

Eligibility: This online event is open to all SEA Residents. Anyone who holds citizenship in a SEA country OR is currently living here is able to play in this tournament.

Registration: To register for this event, you will need to navigate to the following page http://www.esportsdaily.com.au/event...rcraft-2-cup-1, register your account and click 'Register' on the event page. If you find out you cannot make it after registering, you can deregister on the same page.

The points system is designed to reward players that participate in every event, so make sure you guys don't miss any.

how does the qualification work, i assume highest points? how many qualify? is there any subsidy for travel/accomodation?

16 Players will qualify for the finals based on highest points, and there will not be any travel subsidy. There will also not be an open bracket for the finals.

just to clarify, does this mean other SEA residents can qualify for the Australian IESF seed. Or will the points for Australians be tallied at the end of the qualification rounds.

SEA Players can play in the qualifiers, and can come to the finals if they qualify, but the person that goes to IeSF representing Australia must be from Australia as a Citizen or Resident.

NZ players can play in everything including the finals, and can win a share of the prizepool for that, but we cannot send a NZ player to IeSF as an Aus representative. Someone from NZ can speak to IeSF about hosting their own one if they wish to have their country represented at the event.

but for the finals its Australian only?
Can KingKong can play in it and be the Australian representative? not a Citizenship requirement to represent the country? or is this just for the tournament, must be SEA Citizen or resident to play in qualifiers and national finals - but only an Australian Citizen can represent Australia at the finals?

kingkong cannot be an Aus representative but he can play in the finals

Finals are open to anyone that qualifies (SEA players are the only ones that can play in the qualifiers remember). There will be a cash prize in addition to the IeSF flight (So NZ'ers can win a cash prize if they perform well in the finals)

As for our representative, they need to be a resident (Student VISA/Permanent Resident) or citizen for IeSF to accept the player into the tournament. KingKong is a resident currently, so he would be eligible.

If he can obtain a Student VISA here or permanent residency, he is eligible for the flight. These rules are not rules we have made, but the global IeSF rules.

Well then, its open to all New Zealanders then?

Australia and New Zealand have open boarders. An Australian can go to New Zealand as long as they want and work, vice versa for New Zealanders. Like, its actually impossible for them to obtain visa's AFAIK because they don't need them.....

To claim residency in Australia as a New Zealander (and vice versa) you have to provide similar evidence that you live at an address; rental agreement, rates bills etc

Hey guys, just some more information about tomorrows tournament. Remember it is not too late to sign up, follow the link in the first post!

Firstly, signups will close at 5:30 (30 minutes before the tournament starts) so make sure you sign up before then. Also if you cannot make it and have signed up, please remember to remove yourself from the signup list as if you do not show to your games, you will lose 2 league points. Walkovers happen at 6:15 sharp.

Second, the map pool for the event is as follows:

Akilon Wastes
Belshir Vestige
Daybreak
Neo Planet
New Kirk Precinct
Star Station
Whirlwind

The first map for each round is as follows

RO128 (Should we get more than 64 players): Bo1 Belshir Vestige
Ro64: Bo1 Daybreak
Ro32: Bo1 Whirlwind
Ro16: Bo3 new Kirk Precinct
Ro8: Bo3 Akilon Wastes
Ro4: Star Station
Ro2: Belshir Vestige

The channel we will use tomorrow is 'IeSF'. Please be in it on time.

Also we are hosing our 2nd Starcraft 2 event next week, so make sure you sign up to that one as well! (details in a separate thread).

Unfortunately that would mean delaying the entire tournament and that would be unfair to everyone else
