I've made this small thread to provide graphical contributions for this website. I will update this thread as I create more images. Remember, these are just suggestions and you don't have to like them... but I do (otherwise why would I be posting them? :P).
New:New designs generally for the SC2Sea website.
- [None] -
Implemented:Implemented designs generally for the SC2Sea website.
Old:
The image is made larger to fit the kiwi onto the end. Image size: 749x116
Suggestion:
The image is the same size with the koala and lion moved to the left over the wave in order to make room for the kiwi. Image Size: 702x116 (same as current)
Reason: Yes the current icon matches the masters icon but isn't easily identified as the icon for a GPD competition unless you already knew what it was.
My current forum avatar depicts a grim soviet axeman, and whilst that is actually far from the truth (a cheerful Australian gamer) what does bother me is that the facial hair depicted is woefully out of date!
I don't have a furry chin, I do gentle mutton chops, sloping from sideburn up to the moustache and ignoring the chin completely. For reference: (link). This has been an issue for many months and nirvana refuses to update it. Being completely hopeless at art of any kind, I must rely on the kindness and goodwill of total strangers.
PLEASE TO BE FIXING!
The Implementation:
Original:
Option 1 (beard):
Option 2 (beard and dimple):
Option 3 (clean shave ):
(I had the make the clean shaved version before I could make options 1 and 2. May as well post it in case you need it in future .)
Hello Good Sir.
I was wondering if you are into the creation of custom avatars.
I saw what you did with iaguz though that was just an edit I suppose but you've done some awesome stuff with the other graphics on the page.
Anyway, nirv has said I should custom my avatar but I have nothing suitable and I really like the style of the ones currently used for admins.
What do you think? Or are you too busy with other peoples' requests now-a-days?
1. 80x80 with opaque background to match in with the background on sc2sea
and 4. One with a zerg decal on the plane which I discarded cause the logo would look like a purple dot once shrunk.
Request by: nirvAnA Request: An achievement for people who use their detective skills and play a significant role in bringing hackers and cheaters to justice.
I also feel that certain key people should be awarded for their efforts in this case with a custom achievement. These would be posters such as Rossi, tgun, Mafia, iaguz, UHF among others. All of whom spent a lot of time and effort that ultimately brought chobo to justice. TheGentleman, I am looking at you for this logo

Archive:SC2Sea website designs older than 2 weeks that have not been implemented.
These changes have been adopted and the new images have replaced the old ones.
Anymore changes / updates are welcome, there are certainly a few other areas gfx-wise on sc2sea that can be improved and will be more than happy to use the improved stuff!
Update: Opps i overrode the old files so your OP now looks a bit funny.

I've done 3 versions of the same images, so hopefully you find one among them that you like. If there is anything you'd like me to touch up feel free to let me know and I'll fix it when I get around to it.

My problem is the opposite to guzzy's. When my avatar was created i had not a single hair on my chin, however now I have grown a manly beard to rival the great russian bear men's facial hair. Do you think this can be fixed?

I think you will find this adequately models your facial hair situation.

I think your portrait looks fine but if you want I can have a shot at it. I may need an image of you or something like what you want before I can do anything.
I've done this of my own accord. All logos are able to be moved around (including the "delete' button I made), so if I've put in too many sponsors or you would rather have the Masters sign changed to a Grand Masters sign etcetera, etcetera... then I am able to fix that.
Also I designed this particular overlay for a 1920x1080 resolution screen, I'm pretty sure you mentioned you might be 1920x1200... if this is the case this image will not fit, but that's simply because I didn't have a 1920x1200 screenshot to work off. This can be fixed if necessary and shouldn't be any trouble whatsoever.
The main reason behind this post is to ensure you like my work, if you would like to use it and if so I would need to find out what changes (if any) need to be made so that I only have to modify this image once.
Also, I am happy to provide you with the GIMP (*.xcf) file associated with this image.
I'm not artistic so it kinda looks like diablo is doing a hotbid spiderman photo bomb atm. Any ideas to make it better? High resolution of our D3 artwork PMed to you!
I was uncertain whether I should place the "mini" marine back on the cup of the trophy, but that's an easy enough thing to fix later. Maybe a marine for SC tournaments and a diablo for diablo based ones? who knows, that's something for future me to ponder.

I see where you're going with the idea but it didn't really relate to SC2 in any way.
Nirvana has mentioned to me that the previous achievement didn't necessarily have to relate to SC so naturally I figured now that Diablo is a part of the site every achievement can be seen this way. Besides, other than being a stolen sc2 graphic... The current picture has no real relation either.
For the time being I'll stick with my current suggestion cause it matches the new theme I'm working on and I'll come back to it in future should I get some more inspiration.
This idea is also very easily built upon for the GPD medal and potentially Masters cup. Remember, constructive feedback is preferred (e.g. different background colour, silver rather than bronze, etc...)
Reasoning:
- Green in SC2 achievements usually indicates the lesser of the 2 achievements (e.g. Team rather than Solo) hence the green background choice.
- Bronze medal for the BSG league, Silver for the GPD league, Gold for higher competitions.
- Ribbon is in the colours of Bronze, Silver and Gold.
Also:
Golden Glory: Champion of a GPD, watch out for this player on his way to Master league glory.
I am a huge fan of your work. I want to thank you for the effort you have put in. If I may give my opinion on the "Unearth Talent" change which some people seem not to like. I feel it looks a bit too cartoony and less dark and dirty. Like it's suppose to be a zombie's hand but it doesn't look very zombie-like. Just my opinion.
Reasoning:
- Green in SC2 achievements usually indicates the lesser of the 2 achievements (e.g. Team rather than Solo) hence the green background for BSG and blue for GPD.
- Silver medal for the lesser of the 2 achievements and gold medal for the greater of the two.
- Ribbons show the colours of the league (BSG = bronze, silver and gold and GPD is gold, platinum (white) and diamond (blue)).
The idea isn't to improve it... it's to make all achievements match and look like a complete (smooth and not scrappy) set. For example the currently completed achievements look like they go together side by side:
I will consider re-doing the SCV as an alternative but please be advised that the achievements do not need to be solely SC2 themed any more due to the Diablo invasion.

The Legionnaire: Any player who has spent time in the mecca of Starcraft, Korea - either as a competitor or spent the majoirty of their trip as a caster / spectator.
Amazing work so far. In my opinion, it's nice to have these new ones as a change. They brighten up the place more. Now if I could make some requests for the ones I feel should be changed as well,
1. Letters to Cleo - Awarded to the Scribes of SEA, who have produced quality content ranging from battle reports to articles or interviews.
2. The Gatekeeper - Awarded to dedicated members of the community who have taken the time to organise successful series of tournaments for the community.
3. Ayo Technology - Awarded to those who have helped sc2sea through the creation of banners, programming code and other funky techy stuff beyond the ability of us normal humans.
I think it is very nice what you are doing and I want more! As a side note, I disagree that it should all be starcraft themed. I feel our potraits are already starcraft themed so the achievements should look however they sound like. (if you know what I mean)
Finally got around to replacing my own achievement .

Option 3: Easter egg added back in with better graphics and alternative background colour... the down side is the easter egg is only visible on the 75px image.

Wow this stuff is amazing, all of them look better to me. Much cleaner and brighter. Simple lines and details are easier to take in, especially when the image is so small. The old images just look messy. Also, I prefer the 'Here & now' Letters to Cleo because the other one is too plain imo.
Keep up the good work!
EDIT: I posted this before seeing your latest update. In the 3rd option the words "here and now" are too small and not legible in the smaller image. I vote Option 1.

You may have noticed I've incorporated a little bit of the Joker from Batman...
The Manner Man: Courteous to everyone and helpful to those in need, the manner man is a good role model and the epitome of pure manner, a rarity in todays idra infested world.
Reviewed the Letters to Cleo achievement... I am much happier with this one. Clearer feather, better positioning of all items in the image in general, old options still exist on this page but this is undoubtedly the best version thus far.
Letters to Cleo: Awarded to the Scribes of SEA, who have produced quality content ranging from battle reports to articles or interviews.
I have also reviewed the colour scheme of the Gate Keeper achievement. I would value input as to which is preferred more... I think I like the blue one better.

Time to add two more to the list . Since they both are similar achievements I've decided to theme them a similar theme. The colour choice is deliberate. These colours are currently the least used colours and I don't want all tournament achievements to be various shades of gold and blue so this is the perfect time to add in a splash of colour without it looking out of place.
Seasoned Tournament Player: This player has participated in 25 or more sc2sea tournaments!
Edit - 25/06/2012: Added a new red version. Red version is better!

Update: I'm uncertain whether I like this new version of The Gatekeeper however it is markedly better than the old one. I'm going to continue to work on it but it's a start nevertheless.
The Gatekeeper: Awarded to dedicated members of the community who have taken the time to organise successful series of tournaments for the community.
Option 1: Without spikes (I prefer this one, less busy).
I went through a lot of designs for this one basing a lot of my research off of real war medals symbolising valour. My research led me most of the time to stars or crosses depending on nationality. Unfortunately a lot of these designs resized poorly and so ultimately I decided that the simplest design is usually the best hence the five pointed star.
Medal of Valour: A player who has fought through a grueling bracket, achieving qualification for the SEASL finals.
I've heavily based this design off the MTG card telepathy.
I should also probably mention that "좋은 게임" translates to "Good game" if Google Translator is anything to go by. I could have done the simple "ㅈㅈ" but I feel the longer korean string looks much better.
SC2SEA Race War Champions 2011: SC2SEA Race War Champions 2011.
I spent a lot of time on this one, suffice to say design 1 is the neatest and cleanest which is a shame because the first one I did is much more impressive at 500x500px... but alas at 50px it's not that great. I tried to remedy it by turning the units into silhouettes but I feel it wasn't the best solution either.
Let me know what you think... do you like option 2 or is it far to hard to interpret?
Option 1: 3rd design which ends up being the neatest and cleanest.
Singapore is located on the left of the globe, Australia on the bottom right, New Zealand on the top right, Malaysia on top and the southern cross in the very top left.

P.S. Changes may still occur to the above images but for all intents and purposes the standardisation is now complete... finally
I now have a few other things on my plate so I thought I'd list them out there for people to see so they know what I'm doing and where they stand on my list of priorities.
