At the moment I have been sticking with this Logitech wireless MK250 which I got for $25 like a year ago and it serves me well (Well alright considering its wireless), but I have noticed that a lot of the time that the keyboard isn't as responsive and yes I know its because its wireless.
But now im trying to move on and looking for something really good to go for, I was contemplating getting a "Razer Maurauder" but I do really appreciate opinions and ideas on what to get
Blackwidow (/Ultimate), its pricey as hell and it takes some getting used to, but its a Damn nice keyboard. ^_^
Razer support is generally decent and its lasted me 6 months so far no issues (yet), + you can turn the windows key off n stufdf, idk, im not very knowledgable about keyboards, but this has been great to me so far.
+ it has them clicky noises, so gosu.
Good luck!

+ Not cramped (normal keyboard layout)
+ Mechanical goodness for epic sex-like feel and response time
+ 1000hz polling rate (more then others)
+ Can plug headset into the keyboard
+ Can plug both USB ports into your PC, putting more power to your USB ports on the keyboard so it can run more stuff (Not forced to if you are short on ports)
+ Cable is thick and wont kink/fray
+ Wrist Rest
- No Macro's (Get a MEKA G-Unit if you want that)
- No back lighting (I don't mind, some do)

I mine, I even paid for it.
I do quite like the specifications. But I don't base my chosing on performance along. I can't deny I have no clue as to performance bro. But in terms of the aesthetics and the look and feel of the design, I am not quite convinced man ^^
Not to get me wrong I am a big big supporter of the Tt eSports brand, but I am still to find a keyboard that really makes me look twice, because the difference between form and function is quite big for me. I know it must be one hell of a performer, but thats what I look for in any products that I chose that it meets that balance to make it one outstanding product (Hence why I like the Theron so much >,< im just too poor to afford it so I got my sick abyssus).
Idk man, the way im leaning is a very tempting offer to go down the path of the Black Widow, its not a long term replacement. Just to get me through the University years and that. But I do like the look and feel of the design, just visually havent got a chance to test one yet. But that is the general tendancy im going for atm :P
Tt eSports I do love you, just need to design Spartaz a keyboard he likes yo ^^

If you could buy it for a decent price in NZ, I'd have already bought one.
Seriously if you see NZ's pricing its ridiculously expensive. If I get a fair price and manage to rustle up some cash and get a job, ill definately go for one. NZ is like 250-350 for a decent keyboard. Actually I think the Mamba is more then that O.O

From what a lot of people have said, the build quality of Razer is not that great. If you are serious about an RTS keyboard, get a mechanical board with Cherry Brown switches.
My vote goes to the Filco Majestouch 2 after using a membrane switch Logitech Wave for close to five years. Yeah its a bit expensive, but you will not be disappointed in the quality, feel and longevity of the Filco.

Another alternative is to get a Leopold from PC Case Gear because the guy who designed the Filco also designed the Leopold and said so himself that he took feedback on the Filco and implemented it in the Leopold. I've got one and have been very happy with it.

Good point, I didn't quite read properly. Um I have no idea about getting a Leopold with browns atm. I personally like blues the most anyway so it was never an issue. The other option is to get a Ducky from mechkeyboards.com they are currently out of stock for browns, but will be getting some shortly. My last keyboard was a Ducky which was also a really great keyboard, I just want to start collecting mechanical keyboards and felt like getting a tenkeyless one so I have the Leopold now.
I can vouch for the quality of both boards either way, they are solid boards and very similar in a lot of ways.
I have had my maurader keyboard for close to a year now and I'm still loving it! Pretty colours
I haven't played any other keyboards other than the flat inbuilt laptop keyboard but I love my marauder

I just picked up a Mionix Zibal 60... its got Cherry Blacks which I am told are not ideal for RTS but I don't understand why... Its radical!
Comfertable.
SOLID build quality
Doesn't move once you put it on a desk thanks to the inclusion of some boss hog rubber feet
Not noisy at all considering other brands out there
AND HAS BACKLIGHTS!
IMO the blackwidow looks (and feels) a lot more 'plasticky' than other keyboards. I know they are all made of plastic, but it just feel so much more fragile than other similar keyboards I've looked at.

I just recently moved from a standard BlackWidow to a BlackWidow Ultimate Stealth (surprise gift from my gf). I wasn't expecting there to be much of a difference, but I really prefer the Stealth. I'm not sure if it's just the feel of the cherry browns or maybe the matte finish on the keys and casing, but it just feels a lot more "solid". It's really pleasant to use.
I hadn't tried cherry browns before and was worried they would feel too stiff like the blacks in my brother's Meka, but they feel just right. I know what you mean about standard BlackWidows, they just feel a bit flimsy to me in comparison.
It's most likely all in the switches though. Helluva a price tag on the Stealth (230 bucks!!), you could probably get something just as nice to use for a fair bit less.
A mech keyboard is SUCH an improvement over a normal keyboard it's not funny. Any mech keyboard will just feel ridiculously awesome.
That being said, I'm not a massive fan of the blackwidow. My first one died in about 3 days, thankfully the replacement has been good for over 6 months however. It also has a slightly unusual (and completely unnecessary) layout which takes a little getting used to.
I'll be using it for a long time though, as yeah, mech keyboards rule.
- blackwidow
- qsenn (this is my current keyboard)
- filco with browns
- marauder
of these all i would rank them like this
name -------------- feel -------------- loudness (out of 5)
1 filco -------------- amazing for typing and playing -------------- 4
2 qsenn -------------- great for banging on really hard -------------- 3
3 marauder -------------- nice soft keys, takes a bit of getting used too -------------- 2
4 blackwidow -------------- nice cherry blues, tactile, a bit loose -------------- 5
the filco build quality is the best ive seen, brown keys are also my favorite that ive used.
the qsenn is cheap as all hell (like 20 bucks) , and even though its not a mech it is soooo good to bang on, its lighter and mine is black white checkered
the marauder is really nice too, its very very quiet if thats what your into, its heavier than it looks and has a good build quality, its a compact keyboard and this can be annoying or good for u depending on preference.
the blackwidow has a poor build quality for a mech keyboard imo, the keys feel sort of loose and it has macro keys down the left hand side which mean it takes some getting used to, also a minor gripe imo is that the keys have a strange font, which also takes some getting used too.
im currently looking at trying the meka g1, it looks really good and ive seen awesome reviews - im a little scared of black keys and i kinda need a quieter keyboard.
good luck in finding your keyboard, let us know what u get and what u think of it after u get it.

I've recently purchased a Rosewill RK 9000. Extremely satisfied with this mech board so far. I'd say it is very affordable and its build quality is solid as hell. In essence, it is an unbranded Filco. They do provide the options of Black, Blue, Red and Brown Cherry keys.
im in love with my black widow, its my first mechanical keyboard, the only one i compared it with was the 6gv2 because the only place i could try them out was my local pc world and none of my friends had one so i had to make the brave purchase and so far i can say it was worth it
Something about the black widow doesn't feel right to me, it does have that plasticy feeling, not as durable as some of the other brands.
If you dont want a meka g1, get a filco.
Razer Blackwidow Ultimate all the way =) Got it during Christmas 2010. Been a very solid gaming keyboard. It is indeed quite loud but I find it sounds so sexy Gf would disagree due to lack of sleep during my Sc2 practices in the middle of the night or early mornings.
alot of keyboards are good. but hands down i love my Filco Mx Blues, and get "standard" ones(i think most of the mech keyboards have same key layout+size) just in case you want to get some custom keycaps in the future .
Filco with brown switches.
All the way.
I don't even own one but I've used a lot of people's and it feels amazing.
Isn't quite as noisy as some others and there's a few pretty colours you can buy it in ^^
Very good quality, feels rageproof.
Small enough to carry around pretty easily Especially if you get the one without the numpad.
