All matches will be played out in GSTL format (also known as all-kill or WinnersLeague format), in which four players from each team play best-of-one matches until one team has no players remaining. The winner of the previous game remains to play the next match against an opponent chosen by the other captain.
The tournament structure will involve a round-robin league stage made up of two groups each with 6 players, and a playoff stage for the elimination finals. Round Robin stages will involve 4-player teams (Bo7) and playoffs will involve 5-player teams (Bo9).
On the play day team managers or captains will meet up in chat channel BSGCL on Battle.net SEA and tell the admin the first player they send out from their roster on the starting map for that week (See Results and Standings for groups, maps and fixtures).
Ladder points are awarded for wins during the group stage portion of the event.
Win: 3 points
Lose: 0 points
Forfeit: -1 point
Rules
20 minute walkover time.
Minimum of 3 players present or the team forfeits.
3 subsitutions per team for the season.
Playoffs will constitute the top 3 teams from each group in an elimination bracket. The top seed from each group will be seeded into the semi-finals, while 2nd will play 3rd place in the opposite group for the right to play in the semis (winner of 2nd Group A vs 3rd Group B will play 1st Group B).
You must be ready to play your first game at the scheduled time. Not showing up or being later than 15 minutes will result in your forfeit.
You will save replays in case of disputes.
You agree to be patient and considerate should for the duration of the event should any unforeseen difficulties arise, and acknowledge that the supervising administrator designated to your bracket has full authority over decisions pertaining to the game and may enforce the rules at his or her discrepancy.
Tournament administrators are free to join any game that they see fit. You are not to refuse entry to a caster or commentator and failure to do so may result in disqualification.
You agree that by entering this tournament that you will not publicly slader or reproach any of the staff or sponsors associated with this tournament on any public medium.
There are to be no spectators of any kind except the aforementioned administrators and the casters.
You may not include players based outside of Southeast Asia or Oceania in your team unless an admin grants special consideration.
You must own your own legal copies of StarCraft II for the SEA server.
If a player is promoted outside of Bronze, Silver or Gold once the season starts they may continue to play until the end of the season.
Maps will be sourced from the Battle.net ladder and competitive maps (ESL, MLG, GSL, etc.)
Teams failing to contact their opponent's manager or agree on a designated play time will be designated a time by an admin. Failure to show at this time will result in a forfeit.
So far the head admins are Maynarde#489, ToRSynzita#319 and TAEdarus#427 but more may be announced.
So far streaming of games is based on volunteers and not every round or match is guaranteed a stream.
The prize is a clan logo thanks to Whipbot. Once the finalists are determined from league play it is the clan leader's responsibility to discuss creative decisions with myself or Whipbot regarding their possible clan logo.
Group A will play on Thursdays at the default time of 8PM AEST unless negotiated otherwise between clan managers.
Group B will play on Fridays at the default time of 8PM AEST unless negotiated otherwise between clan managers.
If the times above are not suitable for the teams involved and they cannot negotiate another time, the wildcard time of Saturdays at 8:00PM AEST will be used. Failure to show up at this time will result in a forfeit loss. It is the responsibility of the team managers or captains to make a post in this thread regarding whether they can make the time, and should be done so prior to 24 hours before the clan war is scheduled.
The first week of play will begin on the 28th-30th of July.
Prize
The winning team gets a custom clan logo thanks to TCPmagik!

Updated a list of clan managers in the 2nd post to make scheduling your games easier. This part might be tricky for those of you without much experience with competitive games but if you find it's hard to get in touch or organise a time just speak up and someone can help you out!
I will be very happy if this provides not only a chance for you BSG players to play in a team format and gain valuable experience, but for the BSG admins to learn the ropes of what competing in a league is all about and improve as a manager!

Yes maps are picked by the losing team but if this causes too many delays while players make up their mind it might be just changed to a pre-set order throughout the season. No map can be played twice in a match.
Substitutions means new players brought in to the roster to replace inactive players or to represent new recruits.

I have one concern/question about this
As the season goes on or even already you'll probably get people who a gold but platinum level or maybe can do one build like diamond level
The OP mentioned that players who get promoted can remain for the season but then must bounce - thats correct yah?
How are accusations of smurfing going to be handled? I can see a lot of players being unjustly accused of not belonging in a BSG but sure a few will be justified. How will you sift out those who prepared for the competition as opposed to laddering and thus might have a killer banshee rush or 4 gate to those who are actually diamond or higher using a BSG account?

People promoted to platinum mid-season can remain but if they get to diamond they have to be replaced.
There shouldn't be any more smurfing in this tournament as compared to any other tournament (bar Dox's Cup). Also, some of the guys who are involved in the BSG tournaments will be involved in casting or administration and they are going to know who a lot of the top players are.

speaking of casting I would love to do some whether co-casting or on my own (should I have the time)
Possible or will that be stepping on the feet of the established casters?

Well System should be casting Fridays so if you're free for the Thursday or Saturday games a 2nd caster would be welcome

Just so I'm 100% on this (I know this might be getting repetitive, sorry), if I were to promote to plat in my placement game, I would still be able to play - regardless of when Blizz decides to end the season?
IE. leagues NOW on SEA are the leagues used to decide eligibility.

Yes, scroll up and read the thread please namely deL's post (number 8).
If you're promoted to plat in placement; all good. If you're promoted to diamond; you're out. That's how I understand it.

I realise, but ladder season 3 will probably start on the 25th or 26th - which could be called before the start of the clanleague season which starts on the 28th.
If you wanna help cast I dont mind
Also, if all the Managers for the teams want to add me on Skype, after your games I would like to do a Interview and talk over how it played out and such over stream for added awesomeness!
My skype is: Soulbora
If you dont have skype its ok, we will just have to skip you :P
I think the map pool needs some tweaking as it is S2 maps and obv there are new maps.
Plus, nobody wants to be a slag and Slag Pits or Delta anyway (leave my pun alone)

@meatex yeah maybe we got overexcited but think, would it be fun if we are all like Sheth? Bm and trash talk is what makes competition more lively and...competitive. Though if anyone from ToR directly offended you/anyone from FaDe i apologize, it's just friendly bm

Reminder to get in touch with your team managers as per the 2nd post in this tread, just to confirm that both teams can make the default time of 8PM AEST Thursday or Friday depending on your group.
If you can arrange to play another time let me know, and remember if you can't agree on something the default time is 8PM AEST Saturday for games not completed on the Thu/Fri.

Probably not as I don't like releasing rep packs when they are incomplete, though I can probably forward some through on request if you want to see a match in particular. PM me your email.

Agreed with Maynarde.. There are so much more opportunitites for BSG players to get exposed to higher level play now, and it will be such a shame if you dont utilise them for your players to get better in a more competitive method. It is just a friendly competition after all, no need to get serious over it =)
and regarding your concerns of Platinum players in the competition, the players reached platinum AFTER the names were submitted, and theres a reason why we have bsG and Gpd, because gold players have the ability to compete with both the lower tiers, and the higher tiers. And the ranking system is just Blizzard's way of having some sort of skill comparison, and has nothing to do with skill levels. Your players could be stuck in gold just because they havent played enough games, when actually they are in platinum or maybe even diamond level =)
P.S. sry for the long post >.<

Drop hacks, gotta watch out for dem Drop hacks.
I infracted him in the race wars thread and his anger spilled over here. Which is hilarious because these two events are totally unrelated. The BSG clan league was his own idea and his own tournament which i had no part off. I never asked him to help run it and all i helped him do was to post about it in the news section so more people would know about it and join as i realised there were probably quite a few BSG players who would enjoy this.
He probably felt it was taking too much time for him to manage, and instead of getting people to help him with it hes cancelling the tournament as well as using the opportunity to try and turn people against me.
This is not the first time del has cancelled tournaments abruptly, he cancelled the Singapore KOTH suddenly too and cancelled Nation Wars Season 1 before it started after all teams had already agreed, and i had to step in and make it happen.
I will do the same here and try my best to make sure this event still runs. If anyone would like to help me Admin this please send me a PM. I'm helping run the site / nation wars2 / race wars so have alot on my plate and any help at all would be gladly appreciated
QED is very much interested in continuing BSGCL. I am not aware that there was a problem brewing behind the scenes. Please inform me of the necessary measures that I must make/adjust to should anything arise.
I am also willing to help in uniting the BSG Clans in order to make this orderly, peaceful, and legit.
All has been sorted and BSGCL will continue! Remember to message managers to make sure of times and to reschedule if needed. As always post in here with rescheduled times.
Glad to see people have volunteered to do this... I would have done it myself, but RL is getting in the way of my next two weekends and won't allow me to commit to being around when this is supposed to run. So props to the good people who managed to keep this going.
Please be reminded that the BSGCL will continue as usual tonight. Support has been overwhelming, over 8 people have msged me wanting to help and we will do our best to make sure everything continues smoothly.
Channel & Map
Group A Teams please report to channel BSGCL tonight at 8:00PM AEST
Group B teams please report to channel BSGCL tomorrow (Friday) at at 8:00PM AEST
(For Group B - This Will Destroy You has pulled out of BSG CL so nerdlings get a walkover win)
The starting map for today is Tal'Darim Altar LE
Admin Tonight
It is too late to reschedule this week, but if teams would like to reschedule your games for next week please post in this thread.
ToRSynzita.319 one of the team leaders of ToR will be helping with the Admining tonight and he is "go-to" person for this week if you run into any problems. He will be in the channel from start to finish to provide assistance. Team leaders please PM your starter to him, and he will announce the starters after which Team leaders can then make their games themselves and invite their players and proceed.
As ToR is not involved in Group A matches tonight, this is most suitable. Likewise, it is preferred for a reliable Group A team leader to help admin the Group B matches tomorrow
Just had a chat with the clan leaders and all the other kind souls who have volunteered to help out run this BSG on our skype group.
Group A:
Synizta (ToR) Will be in charge of the running and posting of results for Group A. He will also help with the scheduling so if you need to reschedule your matches, he is the guy you need to msg.
He will be assisted by his ToR buddies Maynarde, souljah and deathsfang. This will be fair because ToR is part of Group B and Synizta has proven to be very reliable in these short 2 days.
Group B:
Edarus (TA) Will be in charge of the running and posting of results for Group B. He will also help with the scheduling so if you need to reschedule your matches, he is the guy you need to msg.
He will be assisted by his TA buddy minimat. This will be fair because TA is part of Group A and Edarus is a responsible TA member and leader of their BSG team.
Overall Admins
Maynarde will be in charge of updating the OP with any important announcements, as well as with the results and updated league table. nirvAnA will also be there to assist in any matters but will take a more secondary overall role, just making sure everything is running smoothly and will step in to help if necessary.
Many people are enjoying the BSG league and we certainly hope to build a strong Admin team now, and arm them with the skills and experience that will enable them to run the BSGCL for many more seasons to come. This will be the start of that dream!
Sorry dude ><; trying to iron over the wrinkles since taking over thread duties. That was one of the mistakes. It's been edited and cheers for picking it up, Group B are playing Friday 8pm AEST, same as last week:
Group B: (Admins for this week: Edarus, Minimat) 1. - Team Envy vs Time of Rising - Friday 8:00PM AEST 2. - VB vs Clan FaDe - Friday 8:00PM AEST
(For Group B - This Will Destroy You has pulled out of BSG CL so nerdlings get a walkover win and This will destroy you will have all their games forfeited over the coming weeks.)
Bear with us, hopefully the admin transition won't be too "bumpy" :P
Oh, and FYI; alot of the Group A clans didn't arrive for Thursday night's games (understandably so) and have subsequently been pushed back to Saturday (and Sunday in one case), normally Sunday isn't a play day but exceptions are made this week.
So, a friendly reminder for clan leaders and managers to get in touch with eachother and round up their troops, BSG Clan League is still going as planned, days and times still the same
I am subbing SutomuNinja out for Akumaninja ( JUST TONIGHT ) ( FAIL. bTd ROCKY FINNALY TURNED UP SO TOOK HIS PLACE. AKUMA DID NOT SUB )
I am also subbing Oliva out for iRoNiC ( JUST TONIGHT )
Both players are gold and zerg.

Reason: change in events
Please disgrard the QED > BtD result, as it is going to be Re-matched during the next week.
Also please note miSSp00hbeaR has been REMOVED from BSGCL due to smurfing.
also QED have been allowed a free sub to replace that player.
HOWEVER next time a smurf is caught, whole team WILL be DQ'd not just that particular player.
It is manager's responsabilities to make sure no player is smurfing and if they are, to remove them from their team.

Due to this, instead of updating the OP today, I'll update it with final results AFTER this rematch. Hopefully there's no more smurfing and clans can arrive at the appropriate times for their groups. It's easier on the admins, but more importantly it's easier on the players and managers.
Big thanks to all the Admins who have helped run the matches this week!
miSSp00hbear will be banned from all sc2sea tournaments for a month for smurfing.
For this time it will be an exception and we will not DQ the whole team because the QED manager had no idea he was a smurf. Next time there will be no excuses and it is responsibility of manager to ensure and verify that there are no smurfs in this team its a fair playing enviroment for everyone in this league.
Update: Upon urging from the SC2SEA mod team, miSSp00hbear aka Boxer aka MKP aka SC2MKP aka Sonata aka Kingleonidas has had all his accounts permanently banned from sc2sea and he will not be welcome to play in any of our tournaments indefinitely, and this is a sentiment I agree with. This is because of the nature of his smurfing. This is not the 1st or 2nd time he has been caught. I believe he has been caught smurfing in BSG opens at least three times, smurfing in the MaFia forum game as well (how lame is that lol) and most recently this to bring his total smurfing to 5 times. He has been given SOOO many chances to change but he continues to persist in his behaviour. sc2sea will not tolerate any behaviour that will create an unpleasant / unfair environment in our community.
On behalf of the whole clan, I personally apologize for the recent issues concerning BSGCL. I have tried to set an example to my teammates, but certain things that was beyond my control still occurred. Rest assurred, from now on, the team captains will be more vigilant and scrupulous on the members that will be recruited. We sincerely thank the admins for giving us another chance, and for BtD to have this re-do.
Really? MKP again? sheesh that dude needs to get a ******* life man.
QED afaik is a pretty friendly and mannered clan. Unfortunate this had to happen.
Props to the admins for giving them another chance.
Here's to a fair continuation of the tournament.
Wishing all teams GL HF!
Walk Over awarded to TA for DoA not being online, or being organised for today's games.
Forfeit loss to DoA to be applied, which is a -1 to their score.
Hi guys and girls, your friendly BSGCL thread admin here letting you know I've put Week 4's results and updated the OP with information regarding Week 5:
The starting map for Week 5 is Antiga Shipyards
Group A: (Admins for this week - Synizta, Souljah)

2 - Team DoA vs nWo
3 - Brothers Till Death vs Kelvin's Army
Group B: (Admins for this week: Edarus, Minimat)
1 - Time of Rising vs Nerdlings
2 - Team Envy vs Clan FaDe
3 - This Will Destroy You vs VB (VB get the walkover due to TWDY's departure. GG!!)
Another reminder for clan leaders and managers to get in touch with their players as everyone would prefer the matches occur at their allotted time!
Group A will play on Thursdays at the default time of 8PM AEST unless negotiated otherwise between clan managers.
Group B will play on Fridays at the default time of 8PM AEST unless negotiated otherwise between clan managers.
Also, if the times above are not suitable for the teams involved and they cannot negotiate another time, the wildcard time of Saturdays at 8:00PM AEST will be used. This isn't preferred and there will be NO more Sunday games. If clans can't make Thursday, Friday or Saturday night it is a walkover for the clan that arrives.

GG's to TA! Good luck to all the teams next round! much love and respect from QED!
EDIT: Since Synz updated everything... I can spoil. LOL
Just wanna say thanks to:
QED: For being there and trying to play every match like it was there last. Cause they know I'll kill them if they didnt! :P
For every opponent we faced in league: For being awesome and making us improve, continuing to make us try harder to win and have more fun!
To BtD: For having that rematch with us, even though they did not really have to. We had awesome matches, and I would like practicing with you guys if the opportunity arises.
To TA: For awesome matches. I extend my personal gratitude to each of them that were good sports.
To the casters, maynarde and frogmite: Awesome casts bros, keep up them good works of yours! Good partnership too! sea men? LOL
To maynarde and synz: for organizing this bsgcl into one awesome event for us low leaguers. continue to be cool!
to nirvana: for continuing what was supposed to be stopped and making it possible for bsgers to have fun in a very competitive environment.
I hope everyone from us to everyone else in all the bsg clans had and is having fun. I will continue to support this league for as long as it lives.
Thank you and I'll be watching the next matches in the intent to beat everyone there.
Much love from our clan,
Synchro and the rest of QED

i was so proud of that moment, because my zvt is my worst match-up, but only if i made drones behind that instead of zerglings and then expanded but anyways that was a really fun game and GOOD LUCK to TA
My personal congratulations to QED on some very well played matches and an official grudge-match must be made / come as a result of my game vs ToNYT as it was damned close and a bloody good match.
Best of luck for season two, hope you guys cheer for us for the rest of season one! =)
Aww yeah... there's a reason why ToR has the most number of admins in the BSG CL... cos we MATCH FIX! joking haha, but still gratz to ToR and the other teams that made it out of the group stages! To the others.. Work hard, practise hard and we will see you in S2 which should be just round the corner =)

Hey guys, just edited the OP for Week 6. Playoffs week
This weeks map: Shakuras Plateau

It's up to clan leaders and managers to make sure their clan makes it on time and with enough players to play a Bo9. That's 5 players, gents and ladies.
Just a side note, can team managers please please update the sign-up thread with any removals / additions to teams etc if they have not already done so, and can we have that thread updated to ensure we have 100% accurate information on-the-day.
Note: i DO NOT have the player results as i did NOT save the notepad documents post games after i posted them orginally.
Grand Final: Kelvin's Army vs Brothers Till Death.
Friday the 9th. 8AEST.

i WILL be adming the grand final but i will be doing it from a gaming loungue so i might be able to get the stream shown, but i don't know! XD

Was unfortunately unable to make Saturday's games due to RL commitments, can one of the other Admins please post Saturday's results?
Once done, can we please have the OP updated Maynarde? Cheers! =D
as i said, i was the ONLY admin on saturday night. if you check my last post, it has the results but not the players, since i EXPECTED them to stay up and be captured properly by the website after it came back up.

Yeah yeah keep your pants on!
I posted all of four minutes after you did and while I was writing up my own results thread (FaDe vs TA) is when you posted.
My most sincere and humble apologies if anyone is offended by the double-post of the results.
Hi there BSGers. The OP has been updated! Apologies for the lack of individual player results for the Saturday night semi final matches, the results were posted here but with the sc2sea site changing hosts the post was lost in the ether. Technical error so no one's fault, but the final results are accurate
The season is about to come to a close, and oh man the semis were so close. Both teams needing to win the ace match to bring their clan over the line for the grand final! So, without further ado;
Brothers Till Death VS Kelvin's Army Friday September 9th @ 8pm AEST
This is the big one, who will take it? Tune in to find out. The illustrious TCPfrogmite has agreed to cast the event (with myself as co-caster). Don't forget the grand prize of a sexy new Clan Logo designed by the talented TCPmagik for the winner!
Clan managers need to get their players whipped into shape and fired up for the clash! Please leave queries in this thread or fire off a PM to any admin.
Dearest BSG community. The first season is OVER! Finals went off without a hitch and we have our first champion Congratulations to Kelvin's Army for winning Season 1, your sexy new clan logo is on the way! Well done to the runner up Brothers Till Death who put on some awesome games and a close series.
During the stream there was some special announcements; BSG Clan League Season 2 will definitely happen, but in between now and then there will be a special BSGCL All Stars Invitational Tournament for cash prizes! The tournament will be 1v1 and a small one, but we will be inviting players based on their stats from the BSGCL It's safe to say the MVP of tonight's final "Shadowz" will be one of them.
I'd like to firstly thank Synizta, Edarus and nirvAnA for being awesome admins. I'd like to thank Frogmite for casting and streaming. Thanks also to every player and manager that helped stream games and kept the league running smoothly (most of the time, lol).
Special thanks also to deL. I may get flamed for this, but this guy put a lot into this before his departure. He came up with the idea, surveyed the community and signed up the clans to begin with, set up the league and ran it solo for almost half the season. I feel that earns appreciation, and he has mine.
Keep an eye on the forum for BSG Clan League Season 2, and BSGCL All Stars details coming soon
