So I just finished laddering my bit for the day and surprisingly ended up going up a rank or 2, nothing astounding. But I actually lost more games than I've won, which makes me sad lol
Adding to that, the games I lost, I made ridiculously silly mistakes: forgetting my gateway (built gas and almost built 2nd pylon before gate too lol), miss placing my observers although I knew exactly that cloak banshees were coming and for that matter not getting phoenixes even though I knew 2 port banshees were coming, getting supply blocked while facing korean 4-gate, or even just getting supply blocked a ton throughout the game.

Other times I don't have any such problems, and usually end up winning. But I just CAN'T seem to concentrate sometimes, which leads to my miserable 50% win rate lol

So what do you guys do to improve your focus during the game? Or do you not have such problems at all and I should just stop spamming so much at the start of the game xD haha

Resting helps alot. Laddering 3-4 matches before resting for 10-20 minutes helps alot totally. As a zerg player, i would mistimed my overlord when i lose my concentration... Whenever this happens, i know it is time to get a rest and stop laddering.

Another solution i found was to listen to music, it can actually boost your concentration!

I haven't had this problem and i think that's probably because i only play 1-2 games a day? most i've ever played in a day was 6 lol. Play less? Not an option for some, but i suppose if you want to try it out it can't hurt too much. You could spend the extra time you suddenly have freed up on in-depth analysis of pro-games or just your own replays =D

Taking a break usually is a good thing when your losing the concentration.
And accept losses rather than raging over it, that's usually when losing streak starts if i rage over losses.. lol.

My winning rate ain't as good as well.. around 55%+-
I prefer no music though. Only SC2 sounds I believe I off the music for sc2 as well ..

yea take a break, come up with a game plan

when you stick to a game plan and have a clear outline of what u wanna do, you gonna have alot more concentration

It's really good to have a game plan and sticking to that game plan.
A lot of players just go on playing without a plan in mind, this is one of the points that separates the diamonds out there.

Ooh ! That must be why! I dun have a game plan. Found it too troublesome to plan for everything.. guess i should start to plan ahead

I think what's most important is that you keep your calm during the game and take a break after. Smoke break or something? Whatever helps.

I also prefer to use headphones, earpiece or anything to help me concentrate more. Instead of using speakers and hearing everything around you.
