So does anyone have any proof that they work, or is it like a placebo effect? I personally don't see them doing much as the human eye is based on light and if your eyes 'hurt' or are strained from playing to many video games, I think it may be a more serious issue.
If someone can prove that they work, I would be happy to eat my own words, but at the moment it sounds like it is more aesthetics, option then actually helping, or preventing eye damage(damage to ones eyes)

Lots of love

:/ there pretty much really light polaroid lens'. not worth the price imo.
Flux is a very good alternative. because 1. its free, 2 you don't need to wear glasses.

It's just more weight to your head and glasses and allot of over-ear headphones don't go down too well together. Havn't tried gaming glasses before, but i know they won't be something I like.

Flux user here, Flux works the exact same way. It gradually changes the colour temperature to a slightly yellowish tinge (which the Gunnars do) when the day transitions into night so you can do your transitions into Mass Carriers at night without the headaches.

If your eyes hurt from sitting in front of the computer, then I recommend after each game you get up and look out the window. This will restart you blood circulation (there was a recent study that sitting all day is as bad as never exercising, I'm presuming this is because of blood flow but didnt read the entire study). Your eyes also need to be constantly looking and focusing at different distances to remain healthy, neither of which they do when looking at a screen. It is very important to exercise your eyes repeatedly while using a computer. Glasses will not change this.

Looking at the green leaves of trees will help in this method greatly!

i hear mixed things, people say just get flux same thing and its free lolol, but i really don't thinki they're just a couple of yellow frames. I might give them a go, but i would like to try them first, as i have a lazy eye (vision still fine) just might help increase my focus a bit too. and no flux won't do that, it just reduces the bright whites from your screen.

Also does anyone remember those old school protectors that go over screens?

My dad told me to stop taking it off or I'll get cancer from the screen :)

+1 for old school protector.

I have a pair and they are pretty good, always with the yellow tint which makes it a bit easier to look at the screen, and makes everything look a little bit bigger, which is something i think you need to get used to, like a resolution change, but not as drastic :P just feels weird at first. Good if you have tired/ sore eyes and you wanna keep going, possibly better for your eyes but not sure!

Good if you have money to throw around!

Yeah by the sounds of things they only make the screen a slight tint of yellow, which is wht f.lux does anyway.

I recommend you download flux, then see how that goes. if your eyes are still sore after long periods in front of the PC then try having Gunnar's as well.

I have a pair of gunnars as well. If you go to their site, its only the gaming series that have the yellow tint. You can get the clear specs for the same price and I only paid $65 for mine. I wear mine every day at work, where I work under fluorescent lighting writing reports in ms word. I find that not only do they take away the glare of the screen, they also take away the glare off my peripheral vision, including my white desk and smoothing out the sunlight reflecting off objects around my office.

I wanted to try gunnars for this reason (and not because of gaming) and think they are good for what they are. I actually now use my pair almost all the time as I am constantly switching between my laptop, pc, work pc, tablet etc. I also use f.lux on my work systems, but I still prefer wearing my gunnars - esp for the aforementioned.
