I have a problem with sound as well, I use the stereo mix to get the game sound but i need to reduce the volume to like 5% otherwise its insanely loud and distorted, so I do that and it's all good, but sometimes the volume changes itself back up to 100% and ruins the sound. I have windows XP any suggestions?

What do you use for the screen capture software? If its XSplit then you could just set the Volume for the 'Scene Sources' on the main screen itself.

yeah i use xsplit but I have no idea what you are talking about, my screen source is just a 1920x1080 box of my main monitor. theres no option for volume in that

Woops I meant next to the scene sources. You see the 2 volume controls? One is for the microphone(Oh as a note, xsplit automatically records speaker sounds, so you don't have to set the input option to stereo mix) and the other with the speaker symbol, just adjust the speaker one.

if i disable the stereo mix even if i put those 2 to max I get no sound at all.

Whenever I am trying to open xsplit it just completely freezes the computer, cant even turn the lights on the keyboard on. Any fix?

xsplit takes a lot of processing power maybe ur system can't handle it
