I've been blindly doing the same Marine-Tank opening against protoss for a few weeks now.
The basic build order (that I took after watching sC use it once or twice on stream) is:
12 Rax
14 Rax
Expand with 400 mins (i think this is around 23 or so supply).
take double gas asap after starting the CC.
Start factory.
Start tech lab + reactor on rax.
Start 2 more rax.
Start stimpack research.
Tech lab on fact.
Start tank production.
2 more reactors on barracks.
This lets you do a ~70-80 food 3 tank push. Take your third behind this, and start getting some more tech (adding starports and ebays) while seeing what damage you can do.
If the protoss goes gate expand or anything really greedy, just rally up to about 10 marines from 12/14 rax and walk across the map with them. You should be up against a zealot and 1-2 stalkers at this point, and with a bit of micro you can kill a few probes and get yourself back a harvester lead.
For vision up a ramp, just stim a small group of marines (i'd normally send 3-4) and run them out in front, to avoid getting too badly cut up by forcefields.
Anyway, I know I suck and I'm not sure how high a level this works at, but I've been having success with this build, and actually having fun in TvP for the first time in ages.
