This is the official thread for the LAN NaZGaming will be holding in Adelaide. There was another thread about this LAN, but that was just to get some number and we did not have any information about it at that time, but I will be posting all the information we currently have in this thread.

We will be holding a LAN on Saturday the 28th of April at Arena Internet Cafe.
Starting time will be at 11:00am but you can get there around 10:00am to warm up etc.
It will cost $15 for people wanting to participate in the tournament, but spectating will be free.
Red Bull will be coming around 3 o'clock to hand out free red bull. YEAH! Big thank you to them.

There will be a prize for first place and possibly second.
First place will take home a Razer Arctosa keyboard.

Huge thank you to Sublime PC Gear for the keyboard.

Also a gigantic thank you to Arena Internet Cafe for letting us use their venue.

The Map Pool will be as follows: Metropolis LE, Cloud Kingdom LE, Daybreak LE, GSL Antiga Shipyard, WCG Shakuras Pleateau, Tal'Darim Altar LE, GSL Bel'shir Beach (Winter), Ohana LE. In best of 3's loser will pick next games. All games will be bo3 untill the semi-finals and finals which will both be bo5.
Each player will be allowed one veto.

If that's the map pool please give everyone 1 veto per round. Protoss shouldn't have to play on metal and Zergs shouldn't have to play TDA.

Also do you have a caster yet? If not I'd be happy to!

i think Flamga has volunteered to cast but not 100% sure yet. if you were keen to cast i'll just double check with him to see if he's decided to play or cast

i just didnt't want to make the map pool too big, because i was watching an episode of SOTG and nony etc. were talking about how most major tournies have map pools that are just too big these days and i agree, so i was just trying to keep it kinda small. but if people have any more problems with particular maps, or want particular maps added, just let me know

TDA is a really bad map for zerg, and for protoss in PVP, and Adelaide is full of protoss. You should reconsider, and also don't add belshir, its not that good either.

yeah I've got to agree with everyone else here, get rid of TDA. its no good especially in a tournement where 80% of people are going to be protoss, no one wants to see pvp on that map

Just leave it in, 1 veto will do the trick just fine. Also they are forgetting that one of them actually has to pick TDA for them to play on it. As long as its not a first round map its a non issue. Also in the OP it says not sure whether to make bo1 or bo3. Please make all games a bo3, with a bo5 semis/finals. Games actually get done pretty quickly from memory and you dont want to see edge knocked out first round by a 4gate

EDIT: Yep definately keen to cast! Players who get knocked out/on break can come join in too.

Sir Bard getting his casting on watch out lads! Good to hear. I myself won't be able to get there until late afternoon and it will also allow flamga to play.

Any ideas on when you plan to finish? Just so I know if I have a chance to swing by in the afternoon?

really sorry but i dont have much of an idea of when it will finish :\ i was talking to the guys at arena, and they reckon it usually finishes around 8. It will depend on how many people show up and how long it takes us to start though. I think it should go till around 8 as all games are bo3 and semifinals and finals are bo5.

TAChampi, TASpider, TAEdgE, and Neox are confirmed to attend tomorrow.

$15 is too much money for a tournament that has no losers bracket though, especially since 1st place is only a non-mechanical keyboard.

so unless its decided that double elimination will be used, none of us will play as its not worth the money or time in our opinion.

Regardless, its always fun and nice to attend these events for the social aspect, we hope to see and play you all there

There will be a loosers bracket

and also, we are hoping to make enough money to pay for the venue and also put money into the prize pool. The more people come, the bigger the prize pool. We aren't pocketing anything, we are going to give as much as we can back to you guys!

We are looking into putting up money out of our pockets. This will be a decided on the day.

Thank you to everyone that competed and support the LAN. Apart from a small hiccup of only having half the venue, leading to a few delayed games it ran quite well.
