Similar to last seasons, if you do not play your matches you will not get points

1 day deadline extensions will NOT be granted anymore regardless (this skews the next match generation as it makes it random
It is MANDATORY to upload your replays.. failure to have replays uploaded after the weeks deadline will incur a 1 – point penalty from each player
Usual tournament rules apply
2:30 (Game time) grace period for Disconnects, tech issues etc.
After this point the player who did not disconnect has the option to either re-play or take the win
Players need to nominate thier race BEFORE every match and may not switch races when the match commences.
Random Race is allowed, however once announced (BEFORE THE MATCH) that player will play as random for the entire match
It has gone through a major overhaul since Season 2 so we look forward to a better viewing experience (It should now stream in 720p with Ultra settings smoothly) *touch wood*
I myself (Baldie.924) currently am responsible for the stream and as it currently stands I are looking at hosting a weekly wrap-up of each round with footage from notable games and recapping on progress so far. So look out for that.
Having your games streamed live is entirely optional. However, if you wish to organise a time with me to have it streamed (or have any questions) there are a few options:
1. Send me an email (brad.baldwin24@gmail.com)
2. PM me on Facebook (www.facebook.com/brad.baldwin)
3. Add me in SC2 and let me know (Baldie.924)
4. PM me on Skype (bradley_baldwin)
We also have an in-game SASL chat. Just type in "SASL" in groups and you should join in.
Cheers!

Oh the finals is LAN? ~.~ sorry didn't catch that part, I'll have to pull out of this one then.
We had TAFourby (Who lives in Victoria) play from home when he made finals in Season 2. We are currently looking into the feasibility of hosting LAN finals. It would obviously be a great way for people to catch up/meet each other but equally if we are allowing people from interstate to play - and should they make finals and be able to play from home - we appreciate we should allow all finalists to play from home.
Long story short, we will manage the situation when/if it arises but you will not be compromised for being interstate.
Given at this stage we are still a smallish community and our tournaments are still developing and growing, we aren't fussed in having interstate participants.
We would rather have SEA connect than be SA nazi's and have it only local.
Perhaps in the not too distant future we will have them be SASL Opens which can involve anybody local or interstate and then look into hosting local SASL tournaments which would obviously be SA only.
Is there a twitter to follow? I don't use facebook ~.~
I am unsure if we have a twitter set up.. and if we do I doubt we use it directly. Although you can set up twitter to feed Facebook posts right? We can set one up if it will be of service.

Ah np thx though. I'll just keep myself up to date through the website then~

Facebook is where the most discussion happens as people are on it all the time - and are too lazy to go to the forums. We are in the process of merging the current website to a new and improved, and hopefully more appealing website.
Hopefully this tournament will bring some life back into the forums. We will be sure to announce any major news on sc2sea as well just to be safe. If we have any news we need to get out into the community we will post it here as well as forums and FB
For anybody unaware at this point in time the brackets have been finalised and released (http://challonge.com/saslseason3). Registration was closed early as we decided to cap the registration limit to 50. Please find your opponent and manage your games. Round 1 games can be played from Monday 26th March.
We will attempt to rectify the situation with those people who signed up with either their real name or without their IGN ID as to avoid any potential issue in communication.
All information you need regarding this tournament should be available to you on the Challonge page. If you have any further questions post in the forums and/or reply to this thread and an admin will answer it as quickly as possible (likely myself).
If your opponent is online tonight it is all clear to play your matches! Otherwise you have until Sunday 1st April to play your Round 1 matches.
Challonge brackets have now been unlocked (http://challonge.com/saslseason3). Remember to record and upload your replays to the bracket page once completed.
~~~ Please note these images are subject to change pending the results of some sponsorship discussions ~~~
Ok guys so the admins have decided in my favour - that is allowing people to stream SASL games from their personal accounts only when SASLtv is unavailable due to being in use or myself not being online.
As I am sure you all can appreciate these tournaments cannot be done without sponsors and we have some amazing sponsors on board. In the interest of making their investment into our tournament as worthwhile as possible, we require any person who streams SASL Season 3 tournament games to use the following images.
"Between Game Shot"
Between games while the next game is being set up or at any point where showing the live screen is inappropriate. Example Download
"Live Screen Overlay"
While live streaming gameplay can you please ensure this overlay is used. It should fit perfectly onto xsplit (so long as you are using a widescreen setup - might work on other screen setups too) try to make it work anyway! It is a .PNG so will have a transparent background. Example Download
Should these images change with more sponsor(s) coming on board I will update the images and let everybody know.
Thank you in advance for your co-operation.
Wait... you put a commentary that wasn't from SASL into the SASL intro video???
Thanks! To be 100% honest our casting from Season 2 was pretty piss poor in terms of enthusiasm and excitement so finding an audio clip which was appropriate was impossible haha. I personally have worked a lot on trying to elevate my enthusiasm while casting and we also have Flamga on the team now which should be a great asset when he can jump on.
There is no doubt in my mind we will have some sick footage from this season to ensure we never have to outsource promotions again
Never casted before but i'm probably as enthusiastic as a guy can be so wouldn't mind helping out with some casting....i'm sure Champi would like to co-cast with me too
Hey buddy great to hear! We are always happy to spread the casting love around. The season is a huge 7 weeks so there should be plenty of opportunities. The only real limiting factor is the fact I am the only streamer with all of the setup work so if I am not around at the time.. although I am sure we could manage to make something work.
I am managing sc2sea operations and I check this every day so communicating with us shouldn't be an issue if you aren't on Facebook/don't want to join.
Sweet sounds good, if you are not available when i am (Which will probably be a fair bit with my work) Champi has a stream so if he is ok with it we could maybe use that. I'll ask him ASAP
Yeah no worries. I know Flamga obviously has his own and all that. I think in the interest of creating content for SEA we would rather have games streamed with accounts outside of SASLtv than limit streaming to only when I am available.
Sponsorship is almost finalised just waiting on a few peeps to confirm or decline proposals. Once that is done I will upload some images which would be great if they could be added to whoever is streaming. It will become clear when I upload them!
Indeed. It was my first attempt at a registration promotional video. Like I said in earlier posts unfortunate we didn't really have much footage last season which wasn't already used in the Season 2 promo video.
Can promise the Season 3 finals promo video and Season 4 etc videos will use in house footage. Surely with 50 players, a variety of casters and 7 weeks we can pump out some decent footage
i have a stream and I cast the first SEA starleague and the TA invitational which were some pretty big events in 2011, so i have a little bit of experience, but its been a while
but i'm a player first, so competing is a higher priority for me
Too easy buddy. Most players will go about getting their games done in their own time but should there ever be a time where some people you know are about to play and you want to cast, so long as you use the two images where appropriate you have the all clear from the admins!
All the best for your games during the season as well
Remember to upload your replays to the challonge page peeps! (http://challonge.com/saslseason3) If you are having a notification that says something along the lines of "you need a verified challonge account" you simply need to go into "settings" at the top of the page and add in your email address (you can untick to receive any notifications).
When you activate the email it should verify your account and you should be able to post replays
Hey everybody! Great work on getting most of your games played by Wednesday! You have until Sunday midnight to complete them. Round 2 brackets will then be released by Monday morning.
We are looking at doing a Round 1 wrap up cast and as part of it I am interested in finding some notable game footage. If you think there was some sick micro or engagements/timing pushes etc in your games please reply/rep below and which game it was so I can have a look myself and start doing some prep work! ♥
Round 2 is now unlocked. Please find your opponent here (http://challonge.com/saslseason3) and organise your matches as per last week.
The opening map for this week is CLOUD KINGDOM LE
In light of some confusion throughout the week here is our race changing rule cleared up.
- State your race before you start playing your opponent for the WEEK
- The Race you stated will be locked for that set for the week
- If you go random, you will be locked for that set
Terminology:
SET - Your set of BO3 games for the week
ROUND - The round number for the week, and every week will have a different starting map
GAME - A single game against your opponent
Hey community. We now have our twitch.tv account synced to our Youtube account and Twitter account. When we go live from now on it should update our twitter and as you can see by clicking on the channel link below, all SASL Season 3 games recorded will be uploaded to Youtube.
Just another reason to have them streamed Be sure to subscribe!
Are deadlines moved to Tuesdays midnight from now on? Or are we reverting back to Sundays in the future?
We will be maintaining the Tuesday midnight deadlines moving forward.
After review we thought there was no major benefit to reverting back to Sundays (at the expense of a shorter round) as most of the sets have been played from Wednesday onwards anyway.
In light of a notable amount of games not being played we have set out the following guideline when sourcing your opponent on the SASL forums (http://sasl.net.au/)
** DUE TO A NUMBER OF ISSUES HERE ARE THE NEW FORMATS THAT ARE REQUIRED FOR A CALLOUT POST **
Just reply to the relevant week/round's post and reply to that post to organize your matches for that round..
<<name of person you are calling out>>
<< list of DAY and TIME RANGE (minimum 1hr) that you are available>>
<<your in game name and code >>
EXAMPLE
-------------------------------------------------
Baldie!! calling you out!!
I am available:
WED 8-9, THR 7-8, FRI 6-9
DevilzAngel.537
-------------------------------------------------
should your opponent respond and agree to a certain day/time range be online at that time..
if your opponent is not there post in here again to make it clear to me that you were online at that time and your opponent was not.. This will gain more favour to give you the win..
ALSO, failure to follow this format will render your callout less favourable as well.
