"Incident at QLD LAN"
I honestly don't know anything about this can you please elaborate?
As far as my history with the man goes, he's been a troll.
We let banned players (maphackers etc) back into the community... is trolling really worse?
It's been elaborated plenty in this thread; I've never supported letting maphackers back into the community (never will), and trolling to the extend he has is ridiculous. Spamming racism, hateful messages, etc. Shouldn't be tolerated. He's had plenty of chances.

If someone was given about 10 second chances from hacking, and every single time he instantly comes back and map hacks, how many times before we finally ban him forever?

Trolling is different to being plain rude, insulting and racist. Not to mention this wouldn't be the first "second chance" he's been given.

Azz had a chance at this one point in the game where he had a nexus and 6 probes. But he found a way to **** it up from there 3 times in a row - Iaguz
I think some people here are kind of missing the point. I'm not asking for a second chance at all. I'm asking for the opportunity to earn a chance, and possibly the respect of those who so desire to.
And for the record, no Revenant, I've never hacked in SC2. Custom DotA games yes, but never SC2. (Haven't even stream cheated...)
imo - give him the chance to earn a place in the community back - if he is legitimately sorry for what he's said - write and apology as step 1.
Step 2 would be talking about what you can do to give back to the community.
then give back..
All the while, sitting on a 1 strike and your out.. permanently no more other chances, regardless of how sincere you might be.
IMO maphacking is very different from trolling. i dont think these 2 incidents should be compared
He's done both. And please DO NOT associate him with 'trolling'. Trolling shouldn't have any insults(or at the very most, a bare minimum) layered with it. His actions were just plain insults "that will make Hardened Internet Users go whoaaaaaaaaaah"(Quoted from Maynarde)

Yeah you havent changed, anyone who meets you on ladder should realise this. Go play on NA, then you'll just be some average kid who rages at a computer screen.
I think the last mod banned him on this account for like 6 months cause it was his first account. And we never went back to update the ban when it should have been updated to a permanent ban like his other accounts.
Closed thread, and banned again.
2. The question of unbanning
Zan is one of the 7 out of about 8,000 users that are indefinitely banned from SC2SEA. Basically most people who break the rules get warnings/infractions/bans but they get lifted when we recognize change in their behavior, or if they admit their mistake and show their willingness not to break the rules again. We are lenient and very reasonable people like that and thats why there are only 7 indefinitely banned users in the first place. The people who remained banned are the ones who have been given many chances but refuse to change the way they act, and who continually show disrespect to the rules / admins / mods and do not follow the rules.
My few interactions with Zan since his ban have been unpleasant, and I have heard this from many other sources as well who have experienced the same after interacting with him recently. I am very lenient by mod standards (if not Zan would not have been given like 8 chances before permanently banned) and I don't believe in "a ban for the rest of your life" because people do grow up and mature but rather an "indefinite ban" with a very small possibility of reversal. However, I feel Zan has NOT changed at all in his behavior so now is not the time to lift it. When he grows older and more mature and starts treating people with some basic human respect, I might revise my decision but for now he appears to be nowhere near that stage. So how long that takes will depend on him, and if he continues to persist in his current behavior it could very well be never.
