I had the same problem as you for awhile, in the end it comes down to a stylistic choice. Both races have their difficulties and their comforts but i feel the best way to choose is to figure it out in terms of style. Do you prefer power or agility? Protoss being power and zerg being agility. Or Warriors vs rogues, Thunder vs lightning, or if you prefer the obvious comparison of predator vs alien
