i'm sure you have the best of intentions but you seriously need to understand ...
so many people in "eSports" have invested thousands of dollars and hours only to see their efforts burn in flames for nothing.
gamers aren't kids anymore. we're a little older, a little wiser and a little more skeptical of everything that comes along. there's nothing wrong with that - it's just that people have now grown past 18 year olds running everything and are now used to injecting a modicum of professionalism (typically acquired from working in jobs, studying at university etc) in their events.
that explains why everyone's been fairly reluctant to jump into bed with you so far, metaphorically speaking.
i really hope this event turns out well. i don't care if it's not the dreamhack of australia - as long as it's a well-run tournament that's above board i'm sure everyone will be happy. dox and mayo have probably already given you a heads up as to what people expect and probably a better indication of how to go about things in the future.
everyone wants to support you. we really do. the more events the better. but when you come and make a post that has no punctuation, no details and 100% platitudes, everyone tends to get a bit edgy. don't take it personally, it's just that people are a bit more cautious these days.
