If this thread is in the wrong place, I apologize! Would be nice if you could just move it, thank you.
some months ago I read a thread of someone who wants to offer SC2-lessons while he is travelling around the globe. I'm quite inspired of this and want to try it!
I am from Germany and I will do "Work&Travel" for some months in Australia.
My plane leaves @ 27th of February, I will be in Australia till the end of june.
I will start in Perth. Further plans are not made yet, but I also plan to go to Sydney, Melbourne and some city "near" Uluru and Fraser Island. Other cities are possible, but not decided yet.
I offer: High quality lessons in Starcraft 2 right next to your computer! Means I will stay at your place for a couple of hours or a couple of days and we can play SC2 to improve your skill and to have fun together
Reward: There are several possibilities. One would be that I can stay at your place for a couple of days, sleep on your couch or somewhere. Second would be that you give me some money, but this requires that your home is quite local or that you pay the trip for me. We could also meet in a public place, like an internet cafe or sth.
Some information about my skill level:
I've always been in the highest league (except Grandmaster). Last seasons I was always in High Masters, Top 15 or Top 8.
I play Zerg! But I could also teach Protoss or Terran, depending on your skill level. I'll teach up to low Master league Zergs, very low diamond/high platin Protoss, very low platin/high gold Terrans. If you are on my skill level or don't want to be trained we could just hang out and play or sth 5 months without playing/teaching Starcraft 2 would be reaaaally terrible^^
So yeah, if you are living in Australia and are interested you can PM me!
Greets,
RuFFy

Me and my GF @gilbertamie have been discussing the idea of a sort of StarCraft couch-surfing program for a while now. It could be fun to give fellow SC2 players a place to stay.
That said we don't currently have a house :S However, depending on where and when you are travelling we maybe able to sponsor you a sofa bed in Bendigo. We should be moving in somewhere there in a month or so.

I don't think its sustainable though because you would need a round the clock staple of students! However, working holidays are a fantastic way of living abroad and learning about new cultures and I wish you all the best with it!

I think he wants to do "normal" work everywhere he wants to go, not living on just giving SC2 lessons, bartender, farmworker, all sort of temporary jobs. Giving lessons would give him free housing mainly while living with a local guy who is also sharing his passion for this game.
For some reasons many young Europeans people see Australia as the last "civilized" Far West and want to go there for this sort of road trips. I know someone who has done it.
My flight leaves at monday and at 28th of february I will be in Perth. If anyone is interested in the offers above, feel free to leave a message in this thread.
A quick side question: Is there any barcraft scene in Perth? Or even small "lan" starcraft tournaments or something? I don't know anything about the australien sc2 scene, so maybe you could help me out like where I can find more information etc =)
There is a tournament scene in perth, http://www.facebook.com/groups/sc2perth/
Unfortunately you just missed it the most recent tournament last sunday.
There is also some lans namely Redflag which has a sc2 tournament but is on this weekend just before you arrive.
Bad timing if you wanted to play sc2 but there will be two barcrafts on in the following two weeks at least.

Can you guys tell me where I could buy a SEA account? Maybe an used one, is that allowed? Just wanna play a bit
No idea but if it's allowed or not, but of course the danger is you risk being scammed if you buy a used one. But there are cheap ones available in the store as of a few days ago! It's like $20-30 under the Blizzard online price which is pretty rockin. Hope to play you soon
