Recently in an interview the Bioware CEO's said that if you were to quit your days job to play SWTOR it would take you 10 months to get through every class story once. That doesn't include the flashpoints/ops or group content, PvP or repeatable stuff.
That's interesting. There are people who work full-time and play 'full-time' (ie. 40 hours a week). I do wonder how many people would be bothered wanting to go through all of the classes?

It's less about wanting to and more about 'needing to'
When I tested I played all 4 republic classes. I had some strong views about the classes I would like an the ones I wouldn't, but I seriously liked them all. Each had different enough mechanics that had good overall utility that each was just different and fun.
In terms of story, that is what really sucked me in the most. All I wanted to do was find out what happened next for each. Each story was incredibly unique, even though the starting zones were shared with 1 other class, and each story was super Star Warsy.
For me, even though I'll be playing a Jedi Guardian, the two most interesting (and less predictable) stories at the start were the Trooper and then the Smuggler. As a class, I already know I have zero interest in the Smuggler, but I will play through it just to see where the story goes.
I've no interest in being a Sith either, but I know I'll play just to see the stories.

We'll see where I fit in. 4-5 years ago, when I had more time, I would have definitely been in the position you describe. At the moment I've got a currently untouched copy of Mass Effect 2 waiting for me to play at some point. That being said, this may actually be the MMO to finally keep my interest.
