Hey, anyone going to schoolies next week or the week after? If so where? I am heading down to the Gold Coast for 6 days should be ******* awesome . Anyone else been to past GC schoolies?

Went to the one in South Australia down at Victor Harbor like... 5 years ago. was one of the best weekends of my life, and i can only imagine the one at the GC would be better.

Yeh dude I was at GC for schoolies in 2009, it was amazing. The best advice I could give has already been given in this thread; if you have a girlfriend either dump her or make a pact with ur mates that whatever happens at schoolies stays at schoolies, and don't let morals hold you back. ^_^

Enjoy bro, and hope you're staying close to cav as maccas for breakfast is so satisfying after a massive night.

Oh, and beach party sucks, but go check it out for the first 2-3 nights. ^_^

No. At the contrary, always be strict on your own moral values whatever circumstances (I don't speak of those that you have been force fed, but those you have freely chosen as a young man), even if you're drunk.

Don't do drug, don't hurt or force anybody, don't loose your dignity and protect yourself and your partner if you gonna have sexual relations (means buy condoms before going there if you think that's a eventuality) don't let other hurt you. You are never forced to do something you don't want to even if you are said "it is cool" or you have to do it as a ritual or something like that.

You will see that you will enjoy it and have better memory of it like that.

Doing drug, hurting people etc. define your behavior (and not you in a whole) as not "cool" but "bad" even if you seems cool. That's maturity to be able to tell the difference between what seem and what is.

But yeah, I dumped my girlfriend On schoolies. (Not because I wanted to go crazy, it was just coincidence that she was an annoying bitch that week). I had other friends who cheated on their girlfriends and basically got into trouble a month later when shit eventually leaked out.

Its mad fun though - GC is sweet for it as well, you will run into absolutely everyone you know on Cavill Ave.

Oh, dont drink in public. The cops WILL fine you. And theyre ******* everywhere. Like Aids. Yeah.

Yea I got free accom at my uncles place on Chevron Island which IIRC Cavil Avenue goes through or turns into or something so I'm pretty close to the heart of Surfers which is good, means I won't have to drive anywhere. I went to the busselton schoolies (stupid Western Australia), and it was great.

As long as you're nice to the police, you can get them to do some funny shit.

We asked a police officer if he had "Bad Boys" on a cd or something and if he could play it over the speakers. He didn't, but he asked over the radio... We just heard a "hold on i think i've got it on my phone." Next thing we knew, every police car in Busso had Bad Boys blaring out over the loudspeakers. The cops got out and danced with us. Great times.

So remember, be polite to them and don't be a dick and even if they catch you doing something, you can usually get off with a warning.

I was down at the GC last year for schoolies. I'd have to agree with the majority here, if you have a girlfriend/boyfriend or you're dating someone you have to be pretty careful about what you do during your week. I was kind-of seeing someone before I went, and 2 days in she had heard the stuff I was doing with my mates (just our general womanizing, even though I explained to her that is what would happen) .. and our 'thing' ended. (My Advice is: Don't sacrifice an extended relationship for a week of sex, but if it isn't a sure thing... don't even worry about it, schoolies will cure your woes).

The plus side is, you're in the one night stand capital of the country during the one night stand capital week. It is kind of hard NOT to get laid on schoolies as girls practically throw themselves at you (even ones with boyfriends). But that doesn't mean you should focus on the girls, focus on the party and having a good time and they will come to you (that is my main advice).

Also, NEVER, EVER, EVER travel alone... I had a few mates beaten up because they did, and we also had to rescue some girls (even at bus stations filled with people). And beware of drugs, if you're going to do them.. pop them before you enter the police areas, sniffer dogs are around and you'll get done.

P.S. Never have a competition with your roomates on how many chicks you can sleep with in a week. It ruins friendships.
